Did you ever own something for ages and not fully appreciate what it does? This product falls into that category for me. I think I have this for a few months now but maybe only used it a handful of times. But then my skin started having a mini meltdown and this product really came to the rescue.
Trilogy is a brand I’m already very in love with. Their Rosehip oil made it into my skincare saviours here and it’s a brand with great eco credentials. I picked this up a few months ago with some Elemis goodies from Feel Unique. The reason I bought it is because of the word enzyme believe it or not. I’m a huge huge fan of the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel so I figure those fruit enzymes must be good for my face!
I have quite sensitive/rosacea prone skin so I need to be careful about using exfoliating scrubs because they’ll irritate my skin. Fruit enzymes are the way to go because they gently dissolve any dead skin cells without creating any friction on the skin. This cream formula cleanser contains pineapple and papaya fruit enzymes. It also contains plan oils, jojoba, sunflower and vitamin E to help nourish and moisturise.
A few weeks ago my skin was in an awful state, I had been out wining and dining a lot so my skin was feeling the effect of this and decided to just look clogged and dull. I dug this out of my stash and noticed a difference straight away. Because it’s a light cream formula you might not feel like it is doing anything but I just let it sit on my face for a minute then wipe it off with a face cloth. Straight away my skin feels squeaky clean and soft and definitely looks brighter. This isn’t an everyday product for me as I feel it would have the potential to dry out my skin if I used it too regularly but I find using it once a week has really helped my skin so far.
My only slight issue with this cleanser is it’s consistency. It’s more runny than creamy. I often cleanse my face in the shower so if too much water gets at this cleanser it gets a bit too watery. But it still does the job so this is my only small gripe. This isn’t a cheap cleanser at about €29 for 150mls but you only need to use a small amount and as a once a week treatment it will last ages. It’s a great solution for congested and dull skin that needs a bit of livening up.
