Talkin bout a… Makeup Revolution!

makeup revolution haulApologies for the cheesy title but I just couldn’t resist, good thing I find myself hilarious eh! Well I’m not sure how new beauty brand Makeup Revolution first came on my radar but a quick browse of their website had me very excited. The brand launched a mere month ago in the UK and is creating quite a storm, so of course yours truly had to jump on the bandwagon! Here’s what I bought…

In a nutshell Makeup Revolution is a budget beauty brand that means business. Some of the products look like serious dupes of very high end products at more than affordable prices. The product that hooked me into ordering from Makeup Revolution was the Awesome Metals Eye Foils. I have lusted after the Stila Magnificent Metals Foil eyshadow since they first launched but I just couldn’t stump up the €44 price tag. The Makeup Revolution product costs just £4 and from what I’ve seen is practically identical to Stila. I love this product so much that I’m saving the swatches for a full review post in a few days – sorry for being spoilsport but it’ll be worth it!

I also bought the Iconic 3 Palette with is a near identical dupe for the super popular Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. Just look at the two side by side below! I’m not going to swatch the palette as I’m saving it as a prize for an upcoming blog birthday giveaway I’m planning. This cost just £4 – I know right?!!

I bought the lovely Peach Lights highlighter and the Baked Blusher in Bang Bang Your Dead. I love both of these products. My big fear when i order cheap products online is that they will be filled with glitter, big sparkly glitter! But I needn’t have worried both the highlighter and blusher leave lovely sheens without a hint of glitter, as you can see below. The highlighter costs £3 and the blusher just £2.50. The pigment in these is not super strong but they are buildable.

Last but not least I ordered the #happylips Amazing Care Lipstick, I ordered this product purely because of the name! The shade is called Love a Hug – how cute is that. This is a lipstick with a clear balm around the outside. It gives quite a strong colour, I expected it to be more balm like but it’s a proper moisturising lipstick.

Well suffice to say I am very excited about Makeup Revolution! It’s a very affordable range of high quality interesting products, I just wish I ordered more. My order cost £16.50 with shipping to Ireland costing £4.95, so in total euro wise I spent about €25. This is just great value for the quality of products I got. Have you tried the brand yet?

I’ve paced two orders already – had to split one due to customs charges – and I’m really looking forward to it. Even ordered 2 foundations, as I figured at 4£ each I can afford a miss or two :p I’ve big hopes for the lppies, though, and I’m not even sure what else I ordered :p
