I haven’t updated you on my skincare routine in a while. I find the cold weather and all the central heating is wreaking havoc with my skin at the moment. It looks permanently parched and isn’t helping the look of my foundation. I’ve been bringing out my moisture big guns in an attempt to parch my thirsty skin.

Cleanser – I’m really liking the Face Shop Light Oil Cleanser that I reviewed last month here. It’s brilliant for a second cleanse of the skin. I usually use the Ziaja Rose Micellar Water before I get into the shower in the evening and then I use the oil cleanser when I get out. I sometimes use it in the morning as well if my skin feels it needs it. I’ve also been using my trusty Clinique Take the Day Off cleansing balm in rotation with the oil cleanser.

Toner – Up until recently I had been using my beloved La Roche Posay Serozinc for toning my skin but I just recently ran out of this and have been missing it like crazy. But I am off to France at the beginning of March and I will be holding out on this until then – I of course will have to take a little trip to Sephora, it would be rude not to. I have been continuing to use the Pixi Glow Tonic to keep skin smooth and fresh and ready to absorb all the lovely moisture.

Serum – I have been a long time Hydraluron user but was starting to feel I needed something a bit stronger serum wise. I did my research and decided to invest in the Clarins Beauty Repair Concentrate SOS Serum for Sensitive Skin. I have only be trialling this for few days but my initial impression is good, I will post a full review when I’ve tried it for a bit longer.

Eye Cream - I think it’s really hard to find a good eye cream. I have ‘fine lines’, dark circles and dry skin around my eyes. I think that’s a tricky combo to tackle and I find it hard to see major results from eye creams. I’m currently trying the Vichy Idealia eye cream but am yet to notice a huge difference to my eye area, I’ll keep you posted if I do.

Moisturiser - I recently ran out of my La Roche Posay Hydraphase moisturiser so I decided to branch out and buy something new. When I bought the Clarins serum in Clerys it was Bonus Time so of course I had to buy another product to get my free gift (four generous sample sizes, including a 30ml Beauty Flash Balm – happy days) I decided to buy the Sensitive Skin Cream but after buying it I realised its main ingredient is mineral oil. I’m not sure how I feel about mineral oil but I decided to trust Caroline Hirons on it and avoid it. So I exchanged the moisturiser for the Hydraquench moisturiser as my skin is so dehydrated. I’m liking it so far but it is quite rich, I’ll keep you posted.

Mask - Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask is helping to keep my skin moisturised when it has had a really tough day. You can read my full review of it here but I’s safe to say that my skin is really drinking this up at the moment.

Lips – my lips are battling against the cold/dry weather as well. So I won’t change from my trusty Nuxe Reve Du Miel lip balm to keep my lips soft and hydrated.

So there you have my current skincare regime for the cold and dry weather. Let me know if you have any products you recommend for the difficult skin season!

Before Christmas a friend asked me to be Santa for her two daughters who had asked for beauty products for Christmas. Beauty shopping is my friends idea of a worst nightmare but for me would actually be my dream job, a personal beauty shopper! The girls were looking for some good BB creams so I decided to order them some of my favourite Skin 79 BB creams from Korean online shop eopenmarket and of course while I was at it I had to order something for myself, it’d be rude not to eh?!

I’m trying to be really good with my skin at the moment so I have been stocking up on some good quality cleansers. I decided to order an oil cleanser from Korean brand The Face Shop to help my winter parched skin! This cleanser contains Rice Bran Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil and Rice Extract. Rice is a common ingredient in Korean skincare as it can help with brightening skin.

The cleanser comes in a lovely pump bottle – big fan of a pump bottle, so easy to use. The cleanser has a very watery consistency so it doesn’t feel really greasy or heavy. One to two pumps is enough to cover my whole face so the 150ml bottle will last for ages. The cleanser does a great job of removing my day to day makeup but you might need a second cleanse if you were wearing heavy eye makeup.

What I really love about this is that it doesn’t irritate my skin and leaves it feeling moisturised after cleansing. I haven’t noticed a major brightening effects but my skin does look clearer and feels really soft.

This costs just $11.50 from eopenmarket and if I remember correctly the shipping for my whole order was only a few dollars. This is well worth getting if you have dry or dehydrated skin that needs a little TLC and you can check out some of the other cool Korean products while you’re there!
