I’m probably the last to the party on this review. The Maybelline Colour Tattoos are a bit of a cult product among beauty bloggers. I bought one of these ages ago and I wasn’t too sure about it. The shade I tried was Eternal Gold and it had a slight glittery finish to it and I’m not a big glitter fan.
Well In case you haven’t heard me blabbing on this week I am on two weeks holidays from work! I’ve of course had to do some holiday nails. I decided I’d use the Essence Gel nails at home kit because it’d last me a bit longer and I can just peel it off. I use any polish with this system just fine, it doesn’t have to be an Essence polish. For the look below I used the pretty Essie Romper Room polish with the Maybelline Brocades polish in knitted gold as an accent nail. I really like this look, what do you think?
For December all of my Nails of the Week will have a festive feeling, to give you a few ideas for Christmas parties and nights out! The new Brocades range from Maybelline are a Christmas dream. They’re a range of polishes with a fine glitter base containing larger pieces of glitter as well, that give a really unusual finish. Below is the Knitted Gold shade, it’s just so shiny and glittery and gives different effects depending on the light. It switches from totally gold to rose gold. I’ve also seen red and black versions of this, I think there is a wider shade range in the states but I’ve only seen these.
This weeks nail of the week was a complete impulse purchase on a budget splurge in Superdrug. I’m starting to get into nail art but will be the first to admit it’s not my strong point. It usually involves glitter all over the apartment and smudgy lines galore.
This polish appealed to me as it gives a nail art effect without the hard work! Below is the Maybelline Color Show Polka Dot polish in Rain Forest Canopy. It takes about 3 coats to get this finish. This only cost €4 which is really good value for the end result.

I recently did a big clear out of my nail varnish bag – I didn’t throw anything out by the way – I clearly have a hoarding problem, it was more of a nail varnish review really Turns out I have eight coral nail varnishes, not including the one I have twice unknown to myself. Coral is one of my favourite nail colours for summer, punchy and bright.
So I thought I’d show you my coral collection and you might see something you like, apologies for the childlike nail painting, I for some reason painted them in the darkest corner in the apartment and then took the photos in daylight, rookie mistake!
