It’s a rare day I write about a hair product as I rarely buy styling products and am generally a bit meh about the ones that I do. I was watching the fab Lovely Girlie Bits May favourites video and saw her mention this L’Oreal Hot and Big spray (I keep calling it Big and Bouncy!). Karen’s hair looks similar to mine and hers was definitely looking fuller so I thought I’d give it a whirl.
This comes in a handy 200ml spray with a lock on the nozzle to keep it shut. I use this on damp hair and just spray it all over the roots of my hair. I usually dry my hair upside down and then use a barrel brush to straighten out the ends. After blow drying you can really see the difference, the roots of my hair just look more lifted and my hair overall looks much fuller. The effect also lasts me the full day which is never the case for me!
I’ve tried a few of these types of sprays before and never been massively bowled over (apart from Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Finish but that is ka-ching expensive and so not for everyday use) but this one has totally won me over. I have to second Karen’s strong praise of this spray. If like me you have fine hair but a lot of it, this could be a winner for you and it costs just €5.99. Sure where would you be going at that price. Thanks for the great find Karen!
L’Oreal Fibrology Shampoo
I don’t write too much about hair products as it’s probably where I put in the least beauty effort! I have fine hair but lots of it so I struggle to get volume into it and it can look a little heavy at the ends. So I am all for anything the promises to thicken or add a little more body all over. You really couldn’t miss the L’Oreal Fibrology launch and when I saw the good reviews from my bloggers pals start to roll in I decided I had to try it.
I’m not going to lie to you I really didn’t like this the first few times I used it! I’m not sure if I was just being a bit careless with my hair wash but it left my hair feeling a little greasy. I had written it off until a few weeks ago when I thought I’d give it a second try. I’m really glad I did as I’ve definitely noticed my hair looking thicker without any greasy problems. When I blow dry it I can see there is more volume at the roots and I just generally look like I have more hair.
L’Oreal Fibrology Shampoo
I’m not very good with the science stuff but this range contains an ingredient called Filloxane. Apparently this Filloxane can penetrate the hair fibre and expand it from within. All I can say is that my hair looks thicker! I’ve only used the shampoo (€5.09) as I use conditioner maybe once a week so haven’t needed to buy a new one yet but I might buy the Fibrology conditioner (€5.09) next. There is also a Thickness Booster (€7.69) that you mix with your conditioner before applying it, now that just sounds like too much work for me so I probably won’t try it. There is a mask (€6.49) and serum (€8.99) in the range as well. I do like the L’Oreal hair masks so I might give the mask a try.
Fibrology products are 3 for €13 in Boots at the moment so now would be a good time to snap them up if you’re interested. Have you tried the Fibrology range?
