Agghhhhh it’s that time again! I’m so excited, I know loads of people aren’t big on Christmas but I just love it. It’s a real fun, cosy, warm the feet by the fire, family focussed time of year. One big part of course is the gifts! Every year I look forward to seeing everything that’s new in beauty land for Christmas and bringing you my pick of the Christmas beauty gifts. I’ll start at the higher end of the budgets this week and work towards the last minute stocking fillers. Below are my picks of the gifts for €50 or under…
I’m not really a primer fan in general. I’m not keen on strong silicone textures and some primers are just do nothing for me – I’m looking at you MAC Prep and Prime Primer. So I always approach a primer with a sceptical look on my face. I got a dinky pot of this Benefit Stay Don’t Stray eye primer in a minis set last Christmas but it had been lingering around my stash unused. I’ve recently been facing some serious undereye darkness and was finding my concealer wasn’t getting me through the day, so I decided I’d give this a try.
I’m sure it’s happened to you at some time, you read all the rave reviews and decide you simply have to have that product! As a beauty blogger there is constant temptation and I really have to try and control myself. But I do regularly get caught up in the hype and buy the latest buzzed about product. There is nothing more disappointing to me than when I’ve forked out a substantial amount of money on a product only to be slightly underwhelmed by it. Here are some products that I don’t get the fuss over…
I got this little set as a pressie from my Mum for Christmas – thanks Mum! Last year I had the Sexy Little Stowaways set on my pressie wishlist but it was sold out in a lot of places. I love getting sets like these as gifts as they’re not really something I’d buy for myself. You get to try products out without having to fork out for the full size.
The topic for today’s September Beauty Blog Challenge is to compare two or more similar items. I’m a big believer in a bit of blusher doing wonders for the face. I used to be afraid of blusher as I naturally have quite high colour on my cheeks. But now I know how to cover that up and put a cute blusher over it. It really makes a difference to your makeup.
Well I don’t know about you but I love a good snoop in other people’s make up bags so I thought I’d show you mine. You will probably have seen me review quite a few of these products as I only review stuff I know and love. This is the bag that I cart around with me with my very basics!
An oldie but a goodie as my mam would say. I think I’m on my fourth set of Benefit’s Big Beautiful Eyes. It’s just my failsafe, go to for my eyes. I think the colours are so flattering and soft and they go on lovely. The palette contains three shades to highlight and sculpt eyes. It also contains a pan of Benefit Bo-ing concealer in shade 2.
