I know a lot of people don’t use toner as it’s a little bit of an extra step in any cleansing routine. I like it though as I find it can cool down my face and also remove any final traces of makeup. Up until now I had mainly been using the Liz Earle toner, which I do really like. But I had run out and picked up this product before I had the chance to order another Liz Earle.
I was recently at the National Ploughing Championships, which I’d highly recommend it’s a great laugh, and spotted this lovely Irish brand. Sun Rose Garden is a natural cosmetics brand set up by husband and wife team Natasha and Martin. They have a great range of skincare and body care products that are all handmade in county Wexford. I was trying to be very frugal so although I was tempted by lots of nice things I decided to be sensible and opt for the one thing I did need, toner.
The first thing that appealed to me about this was the bottle, it’s a lovely old brown glass style bottle with a spray top. Simple but I like it. The main ingredient in the toner is rosewater. It also contains oat and honey extracts with pro vitamin B5. I usually just spray this on a piece of cotton wool and swipe it over my skin. It’s also great if you’re feeling a bit hot, a quick spritz and you get an instant cooling effect.
The product costs €16, which might seem a little expensive but it’s a quality product handmade in Ireland. You’re giving your skin a treat and you’re supporting Irish business, so it’s worth it in my book. You can buy it online at www.sunrosegarden.com or at some farmers markets in Dublin and Kilkenny. Have you heard of this brand or tried any of their products?
