Well the weather has been warm for at least a week in Ireland now so summer has officially been declared! This means it’s time to show a bit more skin than I normally prefer, I’m more of a winter fashion, cosy tights kind of girl! But I do have a few products I turn to to help me brave the summer months…
Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub - A season of cold weather and layers means skin can be feeling a bit rough. I’ve been using this scrub for years now and love it. It smells divine and does a great job at exfoliating skin and leaving it feeling nourished as it’s an oil based scrub. A big tub of this costs €11.25.
Body Brush - In summer I like to step up my body routine and love to use the body brush on my legs and upper arms to help circulation and keep skin smooth. I really start to notice the difference when I do this. The one I have is from Penney’s and cost just a few euro.
Palmers Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Gradual Tan - I’m naturally pasty white so I need a bit of a hand during the summer to look a little less pasty. I swear by this tan and have been using it for years. It’s a gradual tan moisturiser that builds a really decent colour, smells nice and moisturises skin. And it costs just €7.49!
Purederm Exfoliating Foot Masks – My feet are usually not looking their best when summer arrives so need a bit of attention before I get my flip flops out and I LOVE these foot masks they’re brilliant and gross in equal measure. You wear the little booties filled with gel for 2 hours and then wash your feet. You wait a few days and then your feet start seriously shedding dead skin, you’re left with baby smooth feet after all that. These used to be in Penney’s but are harder to find now, you can order them online here for €3.99 – sorry I didn’t save my packet for the photo!
Palmers Foot Magic – Another foot winner! This really heavy foot treatment is perfect for softening feet and getting them summer ready. I apply this after a shower and put on little bootie socks so the cream has maximum effect. Feet will be lovely and soft after. This is great value as well at just €5
Braun Epilator - Now the biggest pain of the summer is the old hair removal. Whoever started body hair hatred has a lot to answer for! I can’t moan too much as I’ve had laser hair removal on a good bit of my body but where there’s hair to be removed I swear by my Braun epilator. It’s not pain free but it’s quick and you’re hair free for a few weeks. I have the Braun Silk Epil Wet and Dry Cordless Epilator which is currently about €100. I think I got mine on offer, so keep your eyes peeled.
So I think they would be my big body care picks for summer. Is there anything you would add to the list?
