A few weeks ago I was invited to a lovely Sleek Makeup event. Sleek is not a new brand here but it’s one that’s growing and expanding and it was great to get the opportunity to play with the makeup and check out all the new releases. I was lucky enought to leave the event with a little goody bag of treats and one of them was this I-Divine Au Naturel Palette. I already own and love the Sleek i-Divine Oh So Special Palette especially the Organza shade which is pretty much all gone, so I was delighted to have another to play with.
The palette is definitely a neutral palette but that’s not to say it’s boring! There are four shimmer shades and a whopping 8 mattes. As somebody who tends to prefer shimmers I wasn’t sure I’d get on with this but it’s winning me over to matte shadows. This palette is great for creating day to night looks and with it’s big mirror it’s a really handy one to have in your handbag.
The top row are all matte apart from the last on the right. The top shades are really pale and don’t swatch as well as they do on the lids, I found it hard to capture these on camera. My love for shimmers means I am being drawn to Taupe on this row, an unusual name for shade that is not close to taupe. I’ve also been using Nougat as a base to matte out lids before applying colour.
The bottom row are the real winners for me. Conker is just a beautiful wine shimmer, I think that’s my favourite shade in the palette, I love wearing it all over the lid for a simple evening look as you can see below. Mineral Earth is another lovely shimmer that is much more taupe-y than Taupe on the top row! Regal is a really nice pale plum matte shade.
The texture of the sleek shadows are lovely although I would like a bit more pigment on the pale shades. The palettes are great value though at €9.99 for 12 pretty shadows in a slim compact with a big mirror. You can pick Sleek Makeup up in the bigger Boots and pharmacies nationwide.
