Well it’s probably no secret that I’m a big fan of the Revlon Colorstay foundation. It’s the only foundation I’ve tried so far that has the exact colour, consistency and coverage I’m looking for. It’s quite high coverage but doesn’t feel to heavy on my skin it also gets me through a full day at the office which is what I look for in a foundation. So when I needed a new heavy duty concealer I knew I’d have to give the Colorstay version a whirl.
The packaging on this is your basic wand concealer. It comes in four shades and I chose the palest called Light, it’s actually slightly too pale for me so it might suit anyone with very pale skin. The texture of this is a little more watery than I expected, I expected it to be a similar consistency to the famous Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.
I was very surprised at the coverage of this, I expected it to be pretty heavy duty as the foundation gives such full coverage but it gives light/medium coverage on dark circles and redness. I have swatched it below and also blended it out over the mole on my arm, you can see the coverage is pretty light. I actually find the foundation gives better coverage than the concealer. It does last well though, so is similar to the foundation in that way.
Overall I am a bit meh about the Revlon Colorstay concealer, for me it doesn’t live up to the quality of my favourite foundation. The coverage isn’t high enough and it costs €9.99 so it isn’t cheap, not when you have better quality much cheaper concealers such as Rimmel Wake Me Up and Collection Lasting Perfection. Has anybody else tried this? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
