Well it’s no secret that I’m a fan of a lip crayon. I own about fifty billion, I must write a post about my collection sometime. But of course my massive collection doesn’t stop me buying new ones. I was wandering by a Revlon counter and they had some lip and nail products at half price so I had to try one of the Colorburst matte balms.

Most of the lip crayons I own are glossy but I decided to try one of these matte finish ones for something different. The shade I chose is a rosy bright pink called Elusive. This goes on opaque straight away as you can see below and has quite a strong pigment to it. It’s easy to apply with the crayon but you need to be careful it doesn’t creep outside the lip line.

My worry about matte products is that they’ll be drying but this is just lovely. It leaves a matte finish but with a lovely balmy creamy texture. It doesn’t feel heavy on the lips but is very comfortable to wear. It’s not too creamy that it sinks in but it lasts me a few hours before it starts to fade, I’d say I get about four hours wear out of this without major fading. This does smell and taste kind of minty so if you’re not a fan of a minty feeling this might not be your cup of tea but I don’t mind it.

I wasn’t sure I’d like this when I got it but now I find myself rummaging through my bag to find it. There are 10 shades in the range and I’d love to try one of the more coral tones. I bought mine on offer for €5.49 but these normally cost €10.99. I still think they’re worth this for the strength of the colour and the feel of the finish. Have you tried any of the Colorburst balms?
