The Pro Beauty Show handily falls on the weekend of my birthday so it gives me a great excuse to treat myself a little bit! I got a bit carried away last year and bought a few too many nail polishes so I swore I wouldn’t buy as many this year. The show is held in the RDS and is mainly aimed at Beauty Salons and Therapists but I always gatecrash under the guise of blogging!
The show hosts a wide range of products and services from skincare, to nails, tanning and teeth whitening. You could even buy candles from the lovely Celtic Candles, I couldn’t resist and picked up a jar of the relaxing scent. I really noticed how many nail stands there were this year, all the big players such as OPI, CND and Jessica were there as well as smaller brands. If you needed anything nail related you could find it there. I was quite reserved with my nail purchases and I just bought two Jessica polishes (2 for €10) as well as four China Glaze polishes in a marbling set (€14) and two bargain Bourjois polishes.
There was one of those bargain basement stands where you could buy 5 products for €10. So I rummaged in baskets for the best goodies and picked the five products below.I got two lovely Bourjois polishes, a gimicky rotating mascara, a Bourjois concealer and a Revlon smoky eye shadow stick. Not too shabby for €10.
I also visited the Dermalogica stand where they offer free skin mapping where they analyse your skin and speak to you about the products that you use. The therapist then recommends the ideal routine for you and you can head away with a little sample pack below with the products discussed. I think it’s a great service and I left feeling much better about my skin, the therapist was really complimentary about my skin which is nice considering the work I put into looking after it!
Last but not least I had to visit the lovely Nima Brush stand. Niamh has just launched a new range of brushes called the Artistic Collection. They’re gorgeous quality and I treated myself to the ‘Georgie’ brush which you can use for sculpting and applying foundation, I can’t wait to try it out. I also bought one of the classic cylinders in a gorgeous teal colour. The cylinders are great for storing brushes on your dresser and they look very pretty.
