Well bank holiday Monday was very productive for me. I spent the day blogging and organising my dressing table. Now that everything is nice and clean I thought I’d give you a peek at how my day to day makeup and skincare is organised. On my dresser I have the things I tend to reach for more frequently and then I have a messy jumble of boxes and bags with all my other makeup and skincare bits. I badly need to get a new system for the long-term stash. This post is very picture heavy obviously so you can take a peek.
On the right hand side of the dressing table I have a large two drawer Perspex storage that I bought in Homestore and More for €50 I think. On top of there are some open Perspex holders where I store all my current moisturisers, serums and lip products. I also have a few brushes here and things like my lenses and many pairs of tweezers. In the top drawer I store my current day to day work makeup. I try to have everything in one drawer as I’m usually in a mad rush and can bring the drawer over to the window where the light is better. In the bottom drawer I store some of my eye products that have on rotation on the left and some highlighting products on the right.
Next to the two drawer unit I have a four drawer Muji set. I’ve had this donkeys years and I love it. These top drawers have a flip top lid so it’s handy for storing my skincare and bigger bottles that I need to grab. Also on this is my fave perspex cotton wool pad holder, it’s so handy! On the top drawer are the foundations I sometimes reach for when I’m not feeling my usual colorstay foundation. Then the drawer beneath this is all my lovely blushes from creams to powders to sticks. Finally is the last drawer which is just a small patch of my ridiculous lipgloss collection, there are a handful of lipsticks in here as well. I really don’t need another pinky, browny, red shade to add to my collection!
On the far left I have a little box containing the palettes that I reach for the most including my Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot blushers, Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette, Hourglass Ambient Lighting and some of my many Makeup Revolution and Sleek ones. Behind this I store a few haircare bits and my hairbrushes.
I’m so happy that I finally got around to clearing all my storage and everything looks so neat. I just need to get my act together to sort out the rest of the stash. I’m on the hunt for a drawer set that fits under my dressing table but I can’t find any low enough. I definitely don’t own as much as half the bloggers I know but I’ll give you the full stash tour once I get it organised!
