Nima Brush – The Sunshine Collection Review

Nima Brush Sunshine Collection

Nima Brush Sunshine Collection

Not so long ago I reviewed the fab Nima Mitt here and now I’m looking at the brushes. I was really lucky to win this brush set at the September Beauty Blog Challenge Wrap Up party, We had been treated to a great makeup demo by Niamh Martin the owner of Nima Brush, so I was really excited to give the brushes a try.

This set is the 7 piece essential set from the Sunshine Collection. Firstly these are just beautifully presented in the lovely yellow cylinder holder and the brushes with their bright yellow handles. The holder is just so handy for travel and for using the brushes day to day. It’s definitely a nice addition to your dressing table.

The face brushes below are a large powder brush, duo fiber brush and a smaller blusher brush. The brushes don’t have names on them for what they’re for, I think that could be helpful for some of my more makeup challenged friends and family. The duo fiber is a lovely brush it’s really tightly packed with fine bristles. The foundation goes on really nicely and there was no shedding at all when using it. Both powder brushes are so soft, I think the smaller one especially will be good for contouring.

Below are the smaller brushes. From left to right I’d use them as eye blender brush, concealer brush, pencil brush for shading and angled brush for eyeliner/eyebrows. The large eye blender is lovely, I’d put it up there with my MAC 217. I really love the pencil eye brush (the white one), this is even better than my MAC equivalent, it’s great for precise placing of colour and then blending it out with the larger brush. It just does the job really well.

The concealer brush is nice and firm but not too firm and blends concealer out nicely. The only brush I didn’t really get along with is the angled brush. I’m not a fan of angled eye brushes really, I prefer a straight brush for liner. I thought the angled one could have been a bit more stiff but as I said I’m not really a fan of an angled brush.

I think this collection of brushes is great and just so pretty to boot. I think these brush sets would make amazing gifts as well, so if you’re looking for a Christmas (sorry for the C-word) present for a makeup fan in your life, I’d highly recommend it. Rumour has it that Niamh might have a nice Christmas gift set on the way, I’ll keep you posted! This set costs €65 but you can check out all the Nima products at
