This is today’s topic for the September Beauty Blog Challenge. When I sat down and took a look at my collection it was hard to pick an item that was way more expensive than anything else. I don’t own anything super duper expensive. All my higher end products are in and around the €35 mark so I decided I’d pick three of my more expensive makeup items! Let’s have a little look see..
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Rose – I have had this for years and I always forget about it and then find it again and remember how brilliant it is. It’s just a great all over highlighter for cheeks, eyes or sometimes I use it on shoulders/collarbones for a night out. You can use each shade individually or mix them altogether. It comes in a big sturdy palette with a great mirror. Shimmer bricks cost about €29 and it’s well worth investing in one, it lasts forever!
Illamasqua Complement Palette – I’ve been meaning to write a full review on this for ages and I will! It’s a lovely eye shadow quad from Illamasqua. I’m cheating with this one a bit as it normally costs €40 but I got it in a half price flash sale. The shades in it are deep browns and plums, with a highlighter. One of the shades is a cream shadow or liquid metal as Illamasqua call them. I do like this palette but the shades are quite dark, so it’s more one for night time.
YSL Teint Eclat- I of course bought into the hype of this launch a biggie for Yves Saint Laurent. I was super excited to try this as I prefer a dewy finish to my foundation as opposed to long lasting matt. This foundation costs €35, I was surprised at the price tag as I actually expected it to be a little bit more. I do like this foundation but I don’t love it. It give a medium/light dewy coverage but it can be a bit too dewy especially if you want heavier coverage and it may not last as long as you like. I mainly use it during the day at weekends for a natural look.
Do you own any of these? One expensive item I would like to add to my collection is a Guerlain bronzer which are very pricey, usually around the €60 mark. So I may have to work up to that one!
