I’ve been doing a bit of a look back at my year in blogging so I thought I would pick out some of my favourite products from 2014. In this post I’m looking at the skincare products that really impressed me, not all of them are new products but they were all new to me in 2014. Here we go!
La Roche Posay Serozinc – just in case you missed me regularly going on about this, this is definitely one of my top skincare picks. It’s marketed at oily/acne prone skin but I find it great for my sensitive redness prone skin. It really soothes any inflammation and makes skin feel calm and refreshed. This stuff is hard to get as it’s not sold in Ireland. You can buy it in France or you can order it from escentual.com but delivery to Ireland is a bit pricey.
Clinique Take The Day Off Balm – I bought this cleanser back in May and I’m just scraping the last bit out of the pot now. It’s a very gentle cleansing balm that removes traces of all types of makeup. You only need a tiny bit of this to get the job done. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and leaves it feeling clean without any dryness. For some reason it’s hard to find this product, Clinique are really losing out by not having this regularly in stock.
Pixi Glow Tonic – I’m sure most skincare obsessives will have heard of this one and I added it to my collection this year. It’s a glycolic acid toner which helps to remove dead skin from the surface of the skin and help reveal the fresh skin underneath. It sounds a bit scary but I have quite sensitive skin and this works really well for me. I only use it once a day at night time and it really does help keep skin looking fresh and supple.
Mio Double Buff Exfoliator – This product was a real revelation to me in 2014 as it’s something I hadn’t really seen before. It’s an enzyme based body exfoliator. This one you rub on and can leave to work it’s magic for a few seconds and when you wash it off your skin is just so smooth.
Hand Chemistry Hand Cream – unfortunately my hands are ever so slightly starting to give away my age and I’m determined to stop that in its tracks. They’ve lost a bit of firmness and are looking a bit dry. This handcream has really started to turn that around. It’s very moisturising and I noticed a difference in the texture of the skin on the back of my hands in about a week.
Image Skincare Iluma Intense Lightening Serum – I know I really love a product when I miss it after it’s gone. I decided I have to buy this again because I noticed the difference in my skin without it. It’s great for evening out the redness in my skin and helping to keep the moisture in. It’s made me want to try more from the Image Skincare range.
What do you think of my picks? Was there a product you really loved in 2014?
