Now I’m sure nobody needs any encouragement to help them shop but the topic for today’s September Beauty Blog Challenge is all about shopping. I do like clothes but my true addiction is beauty product shopping. You don’t have to get undressed and it won’t ever make you feel fat! So for today I have my top tips for beauty shopping and my favourite places to shop.
Top Shopping Tips!
- Follow your favourite shops/brands on e-mail, Facebook and Twitter. Some stores/brands have e-mail only offers and codes. Also I’ve regularly seen brands promote flash sale coupons on twitter and Facebook only. You won’t hear about it unless you’re following them!
- Wait for sale time. January you can get Christmas sets on discount usually, so this is a great time to stock up. I always save some money for the January sales.
- Use loyalty cards/coupons – If you don’t have a Boots card and get their coupons in the post, you’re missing out! I save a fortune a year with my advantage points and often buy a lot of my Christmas presents using them.
- Buy travel tester pots and bring them with you to make-up counters. Don’t be shy in asking for samples of foundations/creams. You don’t want to waste your money on a product that doesn’t suit you.
My Favourite Places to Shop!
Boots – Need I say more. If you live in Dublin a beauty shopping trip is not complete without a trip to Boots in Liffey Valley. The shop there is absolutely massive, with a good range of high end and budget counters. They also have a very well stocked skincare section and there is usually somebody on hand to offer advice. If you prefer a more virtual experience for some armchair retail you can now order everything online at boots.ie.
Beautyemporium.ie – For those brands you can’t find here in Ireland. The girls over at Beauty Emporium stock fab brands such as Sleek, China Glaze, Daniel Sandler and Eos. Delivery in Ireland is free if you spend over €20 and you’ll have your products quickly. I’d recommend following them on Twitter or Facebook to be tempted by lovely new products.
Feelunique.com -They have an absolutely massive selection of budget and high end products. There are brands I’ve barely heard of on here and they regularly add new lines. Keep an eye out for sales as I recently saved almost €25 on an Elemis order.
I also love to shop at Penney’s, Superdrug, www.millies.ie and the Liz Earle store online! I’m sure there are a million more I can’t think of right now. I’d like to order some beauty products from Ebay as I hear a lot of bloggers get great bargains there. I am always a little nervous of ebay for some reason but I will try it one of these days!
Sorry for encouraging more spending but if you have a shop you love please let me know!
