In case you haven’t noticed I am loving new kid on the block Makeup Revolution a lot! The products I have tried so far have just been so great and are much higher quality than their price tag would lead you to believe. Their liquid blush that I reviewed here is fab, I’ve been using it so much. Makeup Revolution released a collection of limited edition palettes a few months back and I just loved the colours in this Run Boy Run palette and couldn’t resist picking it up as part of my last haul.
Aren’t the colours in this so pretty?! I don’t need another neutral palette but I thought some of the colours in this were a little different to your regular neutrals. Below are the swatches row by row. The first two rows are all shimmer finishes (not glittery though) and the bottom row are all mattes.
Trying to Catch You is a great base colour, I tend to use this all over my lid. Day is a Prophesy (think there’s a typo!) is a gorgeous greeny gold shimmery colour, its a really unusual shade. It looks gold in some lights and green in others. It’s Time to Run is really strongly pigmented, a nice gunmetal silver shade.
I think the middle row is my favourite. I’ve only had the palette a few weeks but I’ve made a big dent in the Don’t Have to Hide Away shade. It’s a lovely deep gold shimmer, I’ve been wearing it a lot. The shade next to it Break Out From Society is also an unusual shade, its a sort of cranberry gold, really nice to use in the crease for a different look.
This row is probably the least exciting because after all it’s a row of neutral mattes. The pick of the bunch is the black shade. It’s just so pigmented you need to be careful you don’t use too much. The rest of the shades are a little too similar for my liking but they work well as eyebrow shades or base shades.
This palette is amazing value at £6/€7.50. It’s a really versatile range of shades with a few unusual shades thrown in. The shadows are really well pigmented and they wear well, they stay put all day at work. This one makes me want all of the palettes now! Have you tried anything from Makeup Revolution? You can only order the brand online at the moment with shipping to Ireland £4.95 but it’s worth it if you’re ordering a few bits.
