Makeup Revolution are really shaking up makeup land. They are producing good quality cosmetics at veerrry affordable prices. They’re also producing some makeup that might look very familiar to you with dupe being shouted for many different brands including the Urban Decay Naked palettes and some popular MAC and Illamasqua lipsticks. Here is the product that first caught my eye…
Awesome Metals Eye Foil captured my interest in Makeup Revolution. I had long lusted after Stilas Magnificent Metals Eye Foils as they give a really hard to achieve wet metal look to eyes. I just could never justify that eye watering €47 for the Stila product, even a hardcore makeup junkie like myself just couldn’t bring myself to spend it on a single colour.
So along came Makeup Revolution with an almost identical product for… wait for it… £4 (€5)! I know Stila are store based and probably have exorbitant marketing costs but it’s still hard to tag on an extra €40 assuming Makeup Revolution are still making a profit! Both brands claim to be cruelty free as well so you’re not sacrificing your morals to save money either.
I don’t actually own the Stila product so I can’t do a direct comparison but from the other blogs and reviews I’ve read of the Stila foils this product looks pretty identical. Basically you mix the liquid primer and the shadow (which is a creamy consistency) together to get a lasting metal foil finish.
This shade is called Rose Gold, it’s one of four fabulous shades in the range. The finish of this is very shiny, metallic and glittery, this is definitely for a night out or maybe a festival look. The picture below doesn’t really do it justice, its more shiny and foil like in reality and is buildable. You have to be a bit careful applying this if you don’t want it all over the place, the primer does help keep it in place but I imagine it might crease a bit after a few hours.
This is a really unusual product, it’s not something you would use everyday so I personally wouldn’t want to spend a lot of money on it. So I really think the Makeup Revolution product is a no brainer. They deliver internationally for £4.95 so it’s worth the shipping if you’re getting a few bits. You can check out my haul here. What do you think of this? Have you tried anything from Makeup Revolution?
