L’Oreal Fibrology Shampoo Review

I don’t write too much about hair products as it’s probably where I put in the least beauty effort! I have fine hair but lots of it so I struggle to get volume into it and it can look a little heavy at the ends. So I am all for anything the promises to thicken or add a little more body all over. You really couldn’t miss the L’Oreal Fibrology launch and when I saw the good reviews from my bloggers pals start to roll in I decided I had to try it.

I’m not going to lie to you I really didn’t like this the first few times I used it! I’m not sure if I was just being a bit careless with my hair wash but it left my hair feeling a little greasy. I had written it off until a few weeks ago when I thought I’d give it a second try. I’m really glad I did as I’ve definitely noticed my hair looking thicker without any greasy problems. When I blow dry it I can see there is more volume at the roots and I just generally look like I have more hair.

I’m not very good with the science stuff but this range contains an ingredient called Filloxane. Apparently this Filloxane can penetrate the hair fibre and expand it from within. All I can say is that my hair looks thicker! I’ve only used the shampoo (€5.09) as I use conditioner maybe once a week so haven’t needed to buy a new one yet but I might buy the Fibrology conditioner (€5.09) next. There is also a Thickness Booster (€7.69) that you mix with your conditioner before applying it, now that just sounds like too much work for me so I probably won’t try it. There is a mask (€6.49) and serum (€8.99) in the range as well. I do like the L’Oreal hair masks so I might give the mask a try.

Fibrology products are 3 for €13 in Boots at the moment so now would be a good time to snap them up if you’re interested. Have you tried the Fibrology range?

Interesting review. I have fine, layered, top of the shoulder length hair with a few highlights. As I don’t have a lot of hair itself, I though this would be right up my street. But I was so disappointed. I thought that my hair felt really crunchy having used this.. no clean or soft feeling. Now, I used the bottles in full but to show you just how little I liked it.. I even encouraged my husband to use it!!

Now, I did buy 2 bottles each of shampoo and conditioner … I’m putting off using them!!
Maybe the second time will be better…

That’s interesting Aoife It must be the thickener that gives it that feeling, you’re right in that my hair doesn’t feel super soft after using this but I am loving the added thickness!

I use all these products and find them fantastic I really see a difference in my really fine hair. I only recently bought the serum but find it brilliant, I would recommend that you use the serum on dry hair rather than wet even though the instructions say you can use it in either. I find when I use the serum on wet hair it causes my hair to frizz. Great products though!
