I saw Dolly Rouge rave about this back in the summer and as a La Roche Posay fan I knew I had to try it. The product isn’t available in Ireland or the UK but you can get it in France, this just made me want it even more ha ha! My friend Lisa was on her holliers in France last year so kindly hunted down a bottle for me, it cost about €9. Here’s how I got on with it.
The product is a zinc sulphate solution, basically it is a toner type product designed to calm and soothe any skin irritations. It comes in a big 150ml spray top bottle. When I use it I spray it on cotton wool and swipe it over my face. When I first got it I was trying a few new products so I found it hard to tell which product was doing what so I took a break from it. When I arrived back from my holliers recently I decided I would give it a proper trial and started using it again with a more stable skin routine.
Now I understand why there was a bit of fuss about it, I’ve definitely noticed a difference! A lot of bloggers I’ve seen have found this great for their oily or acne prone skin. I have more dry skin but I also have a mild case of Rosacea and I really think this product is helping mine. My skin gets red and bumpy especially in the winter because I’m going from heated buildings to cold outside. I’ve been using this morning and evening and my skin looks clearer and calmer. It’s also noticeably less bumpy and overall my skin feels smoother. I was googling Rosacea and sometimes Zinc Sulphate tablets are recommended as a treatment for it, so it makes sense that this product might help the appearance of it. I think this product is a real helping hand for anyone with any form of skin irritation. It’s not too pricey either the big issue is that you need to bug people travelling to France to get it.
Have you tried this? What do you think of it? I’m just so surprised they don’t stock it here, it’d be a bestseller I’m sure. My jet-setting, life of riley parents are off to Paris soon so I will be getting them to pick me up a few bottles (and maybe one or two small things from Sephora ssh!)
