I’ve slowly turned into a bit of a skincare obsessive but sometimes I get a little bit boggled from all the terminology and sheer volume of products that are out there. I’ve tried to listen to Caroline Hirons advice and spend most of my money on serums. I recently saw Caroline review this serum which sounded perfect for my skin type and so I snapped it up when I saw it on offer in Boots.
Hylamide is a new skincare kid on the block but their owner Deceim comes highly rated as they’re the geniuses behind products such as Hand Chemistry one of my favourite hand creams. This serum is designed for dehydrated and aging skin. It contains a few different types of hyaluronic acid which helps the skin to retain moisture. It also contains ingredients to help boost collagen in the skin, the main active ingredients are listed on the right below. The serum comes in a big box with lots of fancy diagrams explaining the science but for me the proof is in the pudding.
The serum itself has a really watery texture and comes in a dropper bottle. It’s so watery they you have to be quick applying it before it rolls off your fingers. Skin feels immediately hydrated when you apply it and is very comforting on the skin.
I have been wearing this for about 8 weeks and I’ve noticed a huge difference in the hydration levels of my skin. I work in a heavily air conditioned office and normally my skin feels tight as the day goes on but since using this my skin still feels good at the end of the day. I am a big fan of Hydraluron but this is even better. I’ve also noticed this had made a difference to the fine lines around my eyes, they look softer and there isn’t as much settling of my makeup around my eyes.
If you have dehydrated skin I’d urge you to give this a try. This costs €36 which I think is great value for the results but I think I got mine on offer for €28. I’m only half way through the bottle so a little goes a long way. Let me know if you give this a whirl!
