I think Guinot is really under rated as a skincare brand. I think maybe because it’s been around so long that it’s gotten an old-fashioned vibe about it. It’s not hip or cool or down with the kids but it’s some really good skincare. It’s not a range I ever would have tried only my mam had some products knocking around that she hadn’t used so I “borrowed” them.
The Masque Essentiel Nutrition Confort is described as an instant radiance moisturising mask. It contains avocado oil as well as lavender, evening primrose and rosemary essential oils. This also contains menthol which is on thing I did notice when I used this. The texture of the mask is not really what I expected. When I think of a moisturising mask I expect it to be quite wet whereas this was a clay based mask. It’s a thick white clay.
You apply this and leave it on for 10 minutes. It doesn’t sink in but it also didn’t dry out like a clay mask. I really noticed the tingle of the menthol with this and it felt quite cooling. I washed it off with a cloth. I didn’t expect my skin to feel all that moisturised as it’s a clay mask but my skin definitely felt softer and really refreshed.
This mask promises a lot including Comfort, Radiance, Moisturising and Nutrition! I think I would best describe it as Refreshing and Moisturising. This is a great mask for the morning after the night before! It will perk your skin up and make it feel fresh. It also leaves a lovely base to apply makeup on. The tube I have is a mini but the full price 50ml tube is €33. I’d love to hear if you’ve tried anything from Guinot.
