Last week I was lucky to be invited to the launch for new makeup brand on the block Flormar in Residence on Stephens Green (Fancy Pants!). The brand itself is not new and had previously had a small presence in Ireland but now it is back with a big bang. The brand originated in Italy and is a range aimed at women age 18-35 but having seen the brand myself this is one for all women who love their affordable but quality makeup.
The event was filled with Irish Beauty Bloggers so it showed a bit of excitement about the brand. I had a gander at the makeup and was pretty impressed with the range and quality and I was even more so when I heard the prices range from €3 – €13, I expected the price range to be slightly higher. So if you’re curious below is a little peek at some of the bits I received at the launch.
Holy moly giant bronzer! I’ve always wanted one of those massive Guerlain bronzers but this is a close runner. What I really love about this bronzer is that it has a lovely tone that is perfect for Irish skin. It’s a pale brown with a pink tone which is just perfect for me. There is a tiny hint of shimmer in this in certain lights to me but its definitely more leans toward matte. The bronzer sells for €9.95 which is a steal considering the size of the pan. The box also contained the pretty turquoise nail polish. It’s a gel style polish that goes on opaque in two coats. I’m really excited to see more polishes in the range as apparently they have over 1000 different shades!
There is a bit of a love for mattes from what I’ve seen so far from this brand as the neutral eye palette contains five matte eye shadows. The texture of these is really soft and there isn’t much fallout from them. I’m normally more of a shimmer girl myself but I will definitely get good use out of this palette as it’s great for day to day use.
I love the black and white lipstick containers, they’re so sleek looking. Now I must admit I am not a lipstick wearer and when I do wear it I usually go for quite a neutral shade. So the orange shade is a little out of my comfort zone but I modelled it for those of you following me on snapchat (@beautyangelblog)! The texture of the lipstick is a little dry for my liking, it gives quite a matte finish. The lipsticks will cost €6.95. The box also contained a funky purple Long Wearing Lipgloss. Again the shade wouldn’t normally be one I’d choose but the texture of the gloss is nice and didn’t feel too sticky.
All in all the products I’ve tried are good value for the price. Flormar will be officially launching in over 160 pharmacies in Ireland from September but I will keep you posted with the stockist list when stands start popping up.
