Coral Blushers! – SBBC Day 12

Coral Blushers

Coral Blushers!

The topic for today’s September Beauty Blog Challenge is to compare two or more similar items. I’m a big believer in a bit of blusher doing wonders for the face. I used to be afraid of blusher as I naturally have quite high colour on my cheeks. But now I know how to cover that up and put a cute blusher over it. It really makes a difference to your makeup.

One of my all time favourite blusher colours is coral. I think its a tone that suits nearly all skin colourings and can really perk up your face if you’re feeling a bit tired. I’m starting to get quite a collection of coral blushers together so I thought I’d compare them for you. I’ve chosen two of the Bourjois Cream Blushers, an Essence cream blush, Benefits Coralista and Cha Cha Tint.

Creamy Coral Blushers from Essence and Bourjois

Above are three cream type blushes. On the left is Essence shade 1 Ice Bomb. This was part of their limited edition Me & My Ice Cream Collection. The one in the middle is Bourjois Cream Blush Shade 01 Nude Velvet and on the right is Bourjois Cream Blush 02 Healthy Glow. The Essence blush is great value for the money (I think it cost about €4), it has a lovely shimmer to it and lasts a good few hours. The Essence has a pinky coral tone which I think is very flattering. The Bourjois have more of a matt finish, and the shades are quite similar. Healthy Glow has a slightly orangey finish to it so I think Nude Velvet suits my skin better.

Coralista and Cha Cha Tint

Coralista and Cha Cha Tint

Coralista is one of my favourite blushers of all time. As you can see mine had an argument with my wooden floor and didn’t come out the winner! :) It has a lovely pinky/coral shimmer to it. Coralista also has a lovely smell to it which is an added bonus. The box lasts forever, I’ve had mine at least two years. Cha Cha tint is a stain in a similar tone. You have to work quickly with this to get a even finish but it’s a lovely colour and lasts ages. I sometimes use the stain with Coralista on top and the blush will go nowhere!

Above are swatches of all the products. I had these swatches on all day and I noticed that the Cha Cha tint lasts so well. You really have to wash it off. The powder fades quite quickly after about 3 hours but all the cream blushes lasted about 6 hours. I’m very impressed with the Essence blush for the price. It cost about €4 I think but unfortunately was limited edition. The Bourjois will set you back €10.50. Coralista and Cha Cha Tint will set you back about €34 each. My Cha Cha tint was a small pot as part of a set, I think the normal size is a bit bigger.

Do you have a favourite colour blusher? Let me know if you have a coral you love!
