I’m just back from Tenerife where the family were celebrating my amazing Nans 90th birthday. She’s a real inspiration that having a positive attitude towards life is the key to enjoying it! I’ve been to Tenerife a few times and one thing I really like is the cosmetics bargains! Skincare and perfume tends to be a lot cheaper than at home and there are so many outlets they’re all competing on price. You can also scope out some nice makeup and I came across massive Flormar and Kiko stores. I couldn’t resist picking up a few bits so I thought I’d show you what I bought!
Everyone knows that Urban Decay produce some of the best eyeshadows a girl can get her hands on. I think I have at least five palettes and a few singles knocking around my stash. But if you pushed me to pick my second favourite product it would have to be their 24/7 eyeliners. I have quite a stash of these as you can see (bronzey brown Smog is my favourite!) so I was very excited when Urban Decay kindly sent me their new 24/7 waterline eyeliner for review, I did a lot of oohing and ahhing when I opened the package.
I had a heavy weekend last weekend with one of my close friends wedding so there was plenty of makeup that needed removing. Day to day I rarely wear very heavy eye makeup. I have naturally black lashes and watery eyes so I usually only wear mascara for nights out. But for an event like a wedding I will go all out. So I definitely needed a more heavy duty eye makeup remover.
I’m not really a primer fan in general. I’m not keen on strong silicone textures and some primers are just do nothing for me – I’m looking at you MAC Prep and Prime Primer. So I always approach a primer with a sceptical look on my face. I got a dinky pot of this Benefit Stay Don’t Stray eye primer in a minis set last Christmas but it had been lingering around my stash unused. I’ve recently been facing some serious undereye darkness and was finding my concealer wasn’t getting me through the day, so I decided I’d give this a try.
Well it must be at least a few weeks since I’ve mentioned Makeup Revolution, shock horror! I went to Superdrug in Tallaght recently and was delighted to see they had a brand new Makeup Revolution stand, I was far too excited about this and had to try and restrain myself from jumping up and down at it. Unfortunately the popularity of the brand has started to spread and a good few products were sold out but I managed to find a few that piqued my interest.
A few weeks ago I was invited to a lovely Sleek Makeup event. Sleek is not a new brand here but it’s one that’s growing and expanding and it was great to get the opportunity to play with the makeup and check out all the new releases. I was lucky enought to leave the event with a little goody bag of treats and one of them was this I-Divine Au Naturel Palette. I already own and love the Sleek i-Divine Oh So Special Palette especially the Organza shade which is pretty much all gone, so I was delighted to have another to play with.
Well I broke the blogger cardinal sin and used this product before I photographed it so I would like to apologise if it looks a little messy! I had a gift voucher with a tenner left on it that I had to use up so I bought this new Bourjois Colorband shadow and eyeliner pencil and a nail polish from 17. I’m a big fan of a pencil or any product in stick form. I have a bajillion lip crayons and a few blusher ones and many eye shadow sticks. They’re so handy for throwing in your bag and you don’t really need an applicator in a rush.
I’m having great fun trying out all of the products I got in my recent France haul here. I’ve never tried Kiko before so was excited to give their products a whirl. I expected to like the Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow as they come so highly recommended by beauty bloggers but I am actually wowed by the Water Eyeshadow!
If you follow my instagram you know I love a good bargain and just after Christmas I managed to get this MeMeMe Arch Angel and the MeMeMe Fallen Angel products together in a gift set for just €10. It would have been rude not to buy them! I’ve never tried anything by MeMeMe but their products do have a Benefit like vibe about them but come in at a cheaper price tag.
I’m probably the last to the party on this review. The Maybelline Colour Tattoos are a bit of a cult product among beauty bloggers. I bought one of these ages ago and I wasn’t too sure about it. The shade I tried was Eternal Gold and it had a slight glittery finish to it and I’m not a big glitter fan.
