I think my skincare addiction is a little bit out of control. I have so much stuff but yet last weekend I found myself trawling the Feel Unique website sale for more new additions – the sale is amazing by the way. I think I have at least 10 cleansers and many serums and lotions and potions that I’ll never finish. But I just can’t help myself. I thought I would quickly share with you three products that are new to me that I’ve really been loving lately.

Garnier Oil-Infused Micellar Water – I know the Garnier waters are a bit of a staple for many but I picked up this newer oil version recently. The oil version is great for my dry skin but it’s also really good for removing more stubborn eye makeup. It also doesn’t cause me any irritation. I use a micellar water to take of an initial layer of makeup before I go in with my wash off cleansers. This one is also a bargain at just €8.29 for the large 400ml bottle. A great pick for anyone with dry skin.

B. Confident Hyaluronic Acid Facial Spritz – I’m a bit of a sucker for anything with Hyaluronic Acid in it because I have dry and dehydrated skin. I also love nothing more than a spritz product. I use it after cleansing and before I apply my serum and moisturiser. I’ve also been using this one at my desk in work as the air can be very dry from the air conditioning. I really like this, it definitely softens my skin and perks it up. There’s a slight hint of something menthol off it which is nice and refreshing as well. The only slight gripe I have about this is the price. The bottle is relatively small at 75ml but costs €11. The B brand is only sold in Superdrug but they regularly do offers so you might get this one on half price. I got it on a buy one get one free!

Alpha H Balancing Cleanser – I got this cleanser as part of a gift set with Liquid Gold in the Christmas sales last year. I mainly wanted to try Liquid Gold (which I didn’t love – sorry all LG fans! You can read my review here.) I didn’t really give the cleanser a second thought. I started using it recently as a second cleanse after an oil based cleanser and do you know what? It’s really lovely. It leaves my skin feeling so clean and fresh but without any residue or dryness. It’s quite a liquid consistency that comes in a pump (yay for pumps) but does a great job of cleaning skin and leaves it feeling really soothed. This one is a real winner and definitely one I’d buy again. It costs €29.95 but it’s a big 200ml.

So my skincare obsession continues and these are just some of my current favourites. Please enable me and let me know if you’ve any current skincare picks!

I bought all products mentioned in this post.

Ok I officially have a problem. I own more cleansers than I know what to do with! When I started this blog my main addiction was nails and makeup. This has now switched to skincare and an over enthusiastic obsession with cleansing!

I wasn’t always an angel with my skincare and have a teenage past littered with face wipes! But over the past few years this has been replaced with two step cleansing, serums, eye creams and moisturisers. Love it and my skin has never looked better! I have dehydrated skin ( it lacks water) that can be sensitive so I have to be careful with the products I use. I don’t use any foaming or oil control type cleansers but tend to stick to oil/cream based cleansers.

One of my favourite cleansers at the moment is the Clarins Melting Cleansing Gel but it’s almost all gone. It’s a gel formula that melts into an oil when you massage into skin. Recently I came across a great post here from Karen over at Lovely Girlie Bits where she recommended the Botanics Hydration Burst cleanser which sounded identical to my favourite Clarins one.

This stuff is just fab and a total bargain. It’s practically identical to the Clarins cleanser. It feels like a light gel and it turns to oil as you start massaging into the skin. It does a great job at removing even heavy makeup including my waterproof mascara. It leaves my skin feeling nourished but very clean and soft. This has a lovely list of ingredients the main being olive oil and also includes jojoba oil and clary sage extract.

The biggest selling point of this cleanser is the bargainous price! This costs just €8.29 from Boots – a total bargain as it really competes with the Clarins product which is more spendy. I can’t help but think Botanics is a really overlooked as a skincare brand. I have used their solid balm cleanser before and it was brilliant and this is another winner for me! Have you tried anything by Botanics?

In 2015 I became truly obsessed with skincare and with cleansers in particular! I’ve now about 10 regularly on the go so I thought I’d share these with you and some speedy reviews. I have three main types of cleanser on the go, balms, creams and gels. I did have one pure oil cleanser in the mix but sadly that is all gone and I’m on the hunt for a new one – am eyeing up the new Elemis one. I’ve divided the speed reviews by the type of cleanser below. Where I’ve done a full review of the cleanser the link is in the name.

Balm Cleansers

Clinique Take The Day Off Balm – these stuff isn’t fancy but it does exactly what it says on the tin. This does an amazing job at removing even the heaviest of makeup as its very oil based. This is my second pot of TTDO balm and it’s one I will continue to purchase!

Emma Hardie Moringa Balm - While the Take The Day Off Balm isn’t fancy this stuff is super fancy. It smells amazing, it goes on skin as a luxurious balm but works into an oil on skin. It’s great for my dry skin as it leaves my skin feeling really nourished.

Eve Lom Cleanser - I was so excited to try out this cleanser but I have to say it left me a little underwhelmed. It’s not bad but I find the texture is a little off and it doesn’t feel quite as cleansing as the other two balms. Also it mainly contains mineral oil which is disappointing for such a pricey product.

Cream Cleansers

Elemis Pro Collagen Cream Cleanser - I’m a big Elemis fan so I had to add this to my collection. It’s very similar in style to Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish but I have to say I prefer this. It’s not too scented so it doesn’t irritate skin and the creamy texture leaves my skin

Soap and Glory The Ultimelt Cleanser – I thought by the name of this it would be a gel cleanser but alas not. My favourite thing about this cleanser is it leaves skin feeling really refreshed as well as clean. I often use this as a second cleanse after using a balm for super clean skin.

Clarins Extra Comfort Anti-Pollution Cleansing Cream – I’m not sure about the name on this one, it’s probably no more anti-pollution than any other cleanser! This is really gentle on my sensitive skin but does a good job at removing makeup – it wouldn’t blow me away though.

No 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion – this is probably the cream cleanser I’d reach for the least. It’s a little bit watery and heavy on the fragrance for me but it does a decent job at cleansing. It also earns bonus points in my book for having a pump!

Gel Cleansers

Nuxe Rev De Miel Cleansing Gel – this is a recent addition to my cleansing collection. Immediately earns bonus points for the pump. Also like everything Nuxe smells amazing but doesn’t irritate my skin. This goes on like a gel but works into a great makeup removing lather.

Clarins Melting Cleansing Gel - I robbed this sample on my mam who had used cold cream to clean her face for years so wouldn’t notice this missing! It’s a gel that turns to more of an oil when massaged into skin. A real winner for me from Clarins.

Elemis Melting Cleansing Gel (not pictured because I can’t find it) – I love this one so much that I now can’t find it! I had to include this one as it’s great. It’s a lovely gel that transforms into a rich oil on skin. It does a great job at cleansing

When it comes to cleanser type I would definitely choose a balm first, followed by the gels then the creams. I used to exclusively use cream cleansers but after this year I’m definitely a convert to balms and gels. If I had to pick a top three of them all I would pick Take The Day Off Balm, Elemis Melting Cleansing Gel and Emma Hardie. The balms are definitely the hardest working. What’s your favourite type of cleanser?

It’s rare that I purchase a product based on one of those tiny sachet samples that you get but this is one of them! I was going away for a night and took a small sample of this cleanser with me as I thought it’d do for a night away.

I’m a big Nuxe fan but had never tried one of their cleansers before. I’ve mainly used their serums and creams and of course the classic Reve De Miel lip balm. This cleanser is of the same name and is just lovely. It’s named after honey and it looks just like honey. It goes onto skin really easily and one pump works into enough of a lather to clean my whole face.

This cleanser is aimed at dry skin and contains 93% natural ingredients and no soap – I can’t find the full list of ingredients but this wasn’t irritating to my sensitive skin. I tend to use this as a second cleanse as it wouldn’t remove all heavy makeup in one go but as a second cleanse it leaves my skin feeling clean and nourished with no dryness.

This is a great pick for dry skin and I love that it comes in a pump bottle. It’s also pretty reasonable at €17 for 200ml. This is going to be the last cleanser I buy for a while, my cleanser addiction is out of control! Do you have any favourites from Nuxe?

I probably keep saying this but I am cleanser obsessed at the moment. I have way more than one person could possibly need! I was wandering the Marks and Spencer beauty hall a while back and spotted the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Starter Kit for just €35 and thought this was my chance to try the cult cleansing balm. The kit contained a 50ml cleansing balm, cleansing cloth and age support face cream but it was the balm I was really interested in.

This review is probably going to be pretty brief as this stuff is really the biz. First of all this smells amazing. The main ingredients in this are grape seed oil and sweet almond oil. It also contains Vitamin E to help balance and nourish skin, Orange and Mandarin extracts to revitalise and Jasmine and Rose to nourish dry and dehydrated skin. This balm just screams quality. It feels really luxurious when you apply it to skin. It goes on as a creamy balm but quickly turns to an oil. If you’re familiar with my favourite Clinique Take The Day Off Balm this isn’t quite as oily as that but has a thicker balm texture

This does a great job at removing makeup and leaves my skin feeling clean but nourished which is important for my dry skin. You can also use this as a nourishing face mask by leaving it on for 10 minutes. This isn’t the cheapest cleansing balm by far but it really earns its higher price tag. The full size 100ml balm is €50 but a little does go a long way with this. If you’re a fan of a cleansing balm then I urge you to give this a try! If you’ve tried this out let me know what you think.

I’m a bit obsessed with cleansers at the moment, I find I’m drawn to them when I’m out shopping lately but I definitely don’t need any more! It’s getting into colder weather and I’m really relying on cleansers to help keep my skin feeling moisturised and supple. My skin gets very dry and sensitive in the winter months so I need a good cleanser that won’t irritate my skin. Here are some of my top cleanser picks for winter.

Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel – I LOVE this! I think I ‘borrowed ‘ this from my mam but she won’t miss it as she uses cold cream to clean her face… not sure where I got my beauty junkieness from! This has a gorgeous texture it goes on quite thick but loosens to a more oily consistency as you massage it in. It does a great job of removing makeup including waterproof mascara but importantly leaves my skin feeling soft and nourished. This costs €23 for 125ml.

Soap & Glory The Ultimelt Cleanser – I really thought this cleanser would be like the Clarins one of the gel melting type but it’s more like Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I’ve been using this in the morning as it has a minty feeling to it and leaves skin feeling refreshed and perked up without drying it out. I also love the giant toothpaste like tube. This cleanser is also a big bargain at just €14.

Clarins Extra Comfort Anti Pollution Cleansing Cream – A second favourite from Clarins! This creamy formula is perfect for my winter dry skin. It’s a lightweight cream that does a great job as a light cleanse in the morning to leave skin feeling clean and nourished and fresh. It’s not a tough cleanser for heavy makeup removal I prefer to keep the cleansing balms for that. I have a sample size of this but the full size 200ml is €30.

Have you tried any of these? Let me know if you have any cleanser recommendations for winter!

Before Christmas a friend asked me to be Santa for her two daughters who had asked for beauty products for Christmas. Beauty shopping is my friends idea of a worst nightmare but for me would actually be my dream job, a personal beauty shopper! The girls were looking for some good BB creams so I decided to order them some of my favourite Skin 79 BB creams from Korean online shop eopenmarket and of course while I was at it I had to order something for myself, it’d be rude not to eh?!

I’m trying to be really good with my skin at the moment so I have been stocking up on some good quality cleansers. I decided to order an oil cleanser from Korean brand The Face Shop to help my winter parched skin! This cleanser contains Rice Bran Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil and Rice Extract. Rice is a common ingredient in Korean skincare as it can help with brightening skin.

The cleanser comes in a lovely pump bottle – big fan of a pump bottle, so easy to use. The cleanser has a very watery consistency so it doesn’t feel really greasy or heavy. One to two pumps is enough to cover my whole face so the 150ml bottle will last for ages. The cleanser does a great job of removing my day to day makeup but you might need a second cleanse if you were wearing heavy eye makeup.

What I really love about this is that it doesn’t irritate my skin and leaves it feeling moisturised after cleansing. I haven’t noticed a major brightening effects but my skin does look clearer and feels really soft.

This costs just $11.50 from eopenmarket and if I remember correctly the shipping for my whole order was only a few dollars. This is well worth getting if you have dry or dehydrated skin that needs a little TLC and you can check out some of the other cool Korean products while you’re there!

Well I’m probably the last person to the party on this product but I just couldn’t help but share my two cents on it. Ever since I discovered Caroline Hirons, my aim has been to seriously up my skincare game. I try to have a few cleansers on the go at once ranging from lotions to oils to balms. I picked this up on my holidays back in May after reading about its cult status.

This my friends is not a fancy product it’s a case of doing exactly what it says on the package ‘Take the Day Off’. When you open the tub it’s all pretty unexciting, it’s a tub of plain white balm with no fragrance in it at all. The ingredients in this are pretty simple, it contains a mix on fatty acids and oils. There is no fragrance or essential oils so the formula is really suitable for sensitive skin which is right up my street.

Clinique Take The Day Off Balm

You basically scoop a bit of this out of the pot and as you massage it into your face it turns into more of an oil. It kind of reminded me of how coconut oil works. This stuff pretty much removes everything including waterproof eye products. It caused my sensitive skin no irritation and leaves it feeling soft and smooth. About a teaspoon of this is enough for me to do my whole face so the tub should hopefully last quite a while. I just wipe the product off with a facecloth. This doesn’t feel too heavy and there is no oily residue left after cleansing.

I really like this product but I prefer cleansers that come in a pump or bottle as they just feel a bit more hygienic but I realise you can’t bottle a balm! You just need to be very hygienic about using this to make sure no makeup ends up in the pot. I bought this for €22 in Spain but I think you might pay around €29 here. But a little does go a long way and it’s an ideal cleanser for all skin types especially anyone who has sensitive skin. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you’ve tried this.

My local pharmacy has a big range of the Ziaja Skincare. It’s a Polish brand that is really affordable. The packaging is nothing fancy but that’s because they focus all their effort on the quality of the product than to the wrapping. Their ethos is ‘focus on skin’ which is what you really want from a skincare brand.

The Sensitive range does what it says on the tin, it is formulated for sensitive skin types. The range contains no perfume, mineral oils or silicones. I have skin that is easily irritated so this range is right up my street.

I decided to buy the Sensitive Enzyme Peeling as I had seen rave reviews from some fellow bloggers. I’m a huge fan of the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel and I was hoping this might be a budget dupe. I love enzyme masks and cleansers as its a way for me to smooth my skin without using a scrub which can irritate my skin. The Ziaja peel contains the same Papaya enzyme extract (Papain) as the Elemis product so the products are quite similar.

The mask does a great job at dissolving dead skin cells in just 10 minutes. This caused no irritation to my skin but it really helped calm and soothe my skin. It’s not quite as soothing as the Elemis peel but I could live with that as this is a good €35 cheaper at €4.99!

Ziaja Enzyme Peeling Ingredients

The second product I bought is the Creamy Wash Gel for Face and Body. I mainly bought this because I really love products with a pump for the shower and also thought it would be handy as you can use it on face and body. This is a really gentle cleanser that causes no irritation on my face at all, it’s a perfect everyday cleanser. This reminded me of the popular Cetaphil cleanser, it does exactly the same job but is a lot cheaper at just €4.99 for a generous 400mls. This is one I’ll definitely be buying again.

Have you tried anything from the Ziaja Skincare range? Let me know if you have any other recommendations.

If you’ve been reading the blog recently you’ll know I went a bit overboard in Spehora. I bought a whole heap of cosmetics including this face cleanser. My skin is being very dry and sensitive at the moment and I thought this sounded ideal.

The cleanser is very gentle and contains no sulphates, parabens or fragrance. Because the formula is fragrance free it doesn’t smell particularly appealing, it doesn’t smell badly, it just doesn’t smell amazing. This contains soy proteins which help to keep moisture in the skin. It also contains cucumber extract to help calm the skin.

Fresh Soy Cleanser Ingredients

The cleanser is a gel base that turns slightly milky in your hands. I just wash my face with it in the shower and rinse it off. It doesn’t feel particularly powerful but it did a great job at removing all my makeup. My skin felt very calm and clean without any dryness or tightness.

The Soy Face Cleanser is a great pick for sensitive and dry skin that needs to be handled with care. Unfortunately you can’t get this in Ireland at the moment as far as I can see but I found this product similar to the L’Occitane gel cleanser I reviewed here. If you are stateside soon you can buy the small tube that I have for $15 or the full size tube is $38.
