Penneys PS Moisturising Skin Oil

I love an oul’ body oil. I have quite dry skin and love to get out of the shower and apply a body oil straight away allowing it to sink in. I’ve used loads of different types over the years and love The Body Shop body oil in particular but it’s a bit spendy. I was pottering around Penneys and spied this oil right next to the Bio Oil, wink wink ;) If you’re familiar with Bio Oil this stuff looks the exact same colour but in a taller bottle.

This ingredients are below but this contains a mix of peach, sweet almond and evening primrose oil. It also contains vitamin E. This mix is quite different to Bio Oil which contains Calendula and Lavender Oil as well as Vitamins A and E. So despite appearances the ingredients are a little different.

I’ve been using this daily for a few weeks now and I’ve definitely noticed a difference in the texture of my skin. I’ve particularly noticed it at the tops of my thighs. I normally find skin there a bit bumpy and I’ve a few small stretch marks and my skin there is definitely looking a lot smoother. So as well as the moisturising effects this is definitely helping the texture of my skin.

This product doesn’t claim to do the same thing as Bio Oil but I’ve definitely seen a reduction in some small stretch marks and an overall improvement in my skins texture. I’ve never used Bio Oil myself so I can’t do a direct comparison but I’d say if you can’t afford to splash out and your skin needs a bit of TLC this is well worth trying out. It costs just €4.50 for 150ml so I don’t feel too bad using it as liberally as I do! This product just reminds me how Penneys have really upped their skincare and makeup game. Are there any Penneys beauty bargains you’d recommend?

My Favourite Bodycare Products of 2015!

bodycare picks

People always laugh at my bathroom with the volume of products lying around. I don’t have the heart to tell them that it’s only scratching the surface and I have boxes of stuff dotted around the apartment! I probably need help! Following on from my favourite skincare products last week here are my top picks for bodycare and haircare products that were new to me in 2015.

Palmers Anti-Aging Smoothing Body Lotion

Palmers Smoothing Lotions

I do like Palmers skincare and have been a long-time fan of their daily tanner. Recently I’ve been having problems with the skin on my body. My legs have been really dry and I tend to get small red bumps from using an epilator the odd time on my legs. I also have the dreaded little bumps on the back of my arms scientifically known as Keratosis Pilaris (KP). I was having a bit of a think about it and realised that the fruit and lactic acids do a great job at keeping my face exfoliated and clear so surely there must be similar formulas for body creams.

Summer Body Skincare

Well the weather has been warm for at least a week in Ireland now so summer has officially been declared! This means it’s time to show a bit more skin than I normally prefer, I’m more of a winter fashion, cosy tights kind of girl! But I do have a few products I turn to to help me brave the summer months…

Rituals Ayurveda Body Scrub

Rituals Ayurveda

Whenever we’re stuck for a present for my Mam there’s always the never fail present of ‘smellies’. That might sound funny to some but in our family ‘smellies’ is a catch all term for bath and body products! Mam loves a nice bath so she always has a stock of ‘smellies’ on hand that I always peruse when I’m home. A few weeks ago I came across this product from Rituals in the bathroom and when I smelled the gorgeous scent I knew I had to give it a try.

Dove Deeply Nourishing Bodywash

Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash

I was recently sent this Dove Deeply Nourishing body wash to review. I’ve used Dove deodorant for years, there’s something familiar about the Dove scent to me, it just feels really fresh. I have to admit I don’t put a huge amount of thought into the body wash I use. I usually get loads of that type of thing for Christmas – looking at you Soap and Glory – and I use them up throughout the year. But I was intrigued by the claims of this one so thought I’d give it a whirl.

The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Beautifying Oil

body shop cocoa butter oil

I think I must be mistaken as I do believe this is my first review of a Body Shop product on my blog! I can’t really believe it as I do love their products (body butters in particular) but somehow they haven’t landed here until now. I received The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Beautifying Oil in the last British Beauty Blogger Dream Box 2 here. Here’s how I got on with it…

Hand Chemistry Hand Cream Review

Hand Chemistry Hand Cream

Hand Chemistry Hand Cream

I bought the latest Look Fantastic beauty box because it contained three  products I’ve always wanted to try but that are a little bit pricey to buy alone. The box here contained minis of the famous Glam Glow mask, Eve Lom Cleanser and this Hand Chemistry Intense Youth Complex hand cream. I’ve wanted to try this cream since I saw British Beauty Blogger herself rave about it.

Mio Double Buff Review

Mio Double Buff

Mio Double Buff

It’s rare for me to find a body product that is something a bit different. There is only so much you can do with body moisturisers, serums and exfoliators but this product is different and a bit cool. I got this Mio Double Buff Dual Action Enzyme Exfoliator recently in the British Beauty Blogger Dream Box 2 here. The word enzyme immediately won me over as I’m a big fan of an enzyme face mask.

I don’t normally do empties post as I feel like I’m just showing you my rubbish! But this month I seem to have run out of everything I own at the exact same time, so I thought I would share. I’m really hoping to get some Boots coupons soon so I can do a proper stock up and max out my advantage card points, I’m already doing my beauty maths, ha ha! Here is a selection of the stuff I’ve run out of…
