An oldie but a goodie as my mam would say. I think I’m on my fourth set of Benefit’s Big Beautiful Eyes. It’s just my failsafe, go to for my eyes. I think the colours are so flattering and soft and they go on lovely. The palette contains three shades to highlight and sculpt eyes. It also contains a pan of Benefit Bo-ing concealer in shade 2.
Below are swatches of the three shades in the palette.
Here’s how I use it below:
I add the highlight to the full lid up to the brow, it’s a lovely soft pink that I think would flatter most skin tones.
A light taupe colour with a slight sheen is used to shade the socket. If I’m wearing this for evening I sometimes use this shade on the lid
The third shade is intended as a liner shade. It’s a matte mid to dark brown that is well pigmented. I often use a wet liner brush with this to get a stronger colour. And if I’m wearing this at night I will use this shade to define the socket as well. It’s also a good back up for filling in my dark eyebrows!
I think the Big Beautiful Eyes set is a great staple to have in your eye shadow collection. It’s more portable than say the Urban Decay Naked palette and you can work with it to create a few different looks.
My only slight criticism would be the concealer. It just ends up getting covered in flakes of eye shadow and hairs from brushes etc. It should have a little cover or maybe not be included at all. I’m quite pale so the concealer is a little dark for me anyway.
But apart from that I think it’s a really versatile little set to have in your handbag, I will continue to buy this. Both my sister and my mam are also big fans of this palette so I think it can suit everyone of all ages and skin types. You can pick this up for €35.50 from Benefit. It’s a goodie.
