This is my third post in the Best of Beauty Blog Challenge being hosted by Samantha over at All the Buzz. This week’s topic is Makeup Must Haves you can see my other posts here! I’m sure like most beauty bloggers my makeup must haves change on a weekly basis, I’m so fickle! That’s the real problem with having a beauty product addiction. Anyway I’ve had a good rummage through my makeup bag and I’m showing you the five items I use most regularly at the moment.
Revlon Colorstay Foundation – I just can’t believe how impressed I am with a ‘budget’ foundation. I like most people have tried a squigillion (it’s a word) foundations over the years and each one was not quite right. So like Goldilocks I happened upon Revlon Colorstay and this one was just right. It’s heavy enough coverage to get me through the day, without looking cakey or drying out my skin. If you’re still on your holy grail foundation hunt, please give this a try, you can read my full review here. The shade range is a little limited but they cost just €17.99.
Sleek i-divine Oh So Special Palette – It’s just so pretty! It has 12 really wearable shades although I am a little addicted to Organza as you can see that pan is being whittled away. The palette is quite compact but has a large mirror so it’s perfect for my makeup bag. The colours have decent pigment, oh and it’s only €9.99, what’s not to love! You can read my full review and see swatches of this here.
Essence Me and My Ice-Cream Blusher – This is one of those lovely, lovely products that was unfortunately part of a limited edition collection. So when I run out of this I will never have it again. If you read my blog regularly you’ll know I’m a fan of a coral blusher. I have two of the Bourjois cream blushers which I also love but I keep coming back to this as it has a nice sheen/highlight effect to it. You can see my swatches of my favourite corals including this here. I think this only cost me €2.99 but alas I will never own it again
Benefit High Beam – This little pot of highlighter has made a surprise return to my makeup bag. I’m loving the glowy look at the moment so I have been using High Beam to add a little highlight to my cheekbones and cupids bow. I got this dinky pot as part of a set but it’s really handy for the makeup bag.
Soap and Glory Sexy Motherpucker Gloss Sticks – If you haven’t seen me go on about these where have you been! I absolutely love these gloss sticks I’m sure I’m nearly at the end of the brown shade. They give a nice hint of colour and a bit of shine that lasts longer than you might expect. You can read my full review and see swatches of them here.
Catrice Bronzing Powder – I have much, much love for Catrice. The quality of their cosmetics for such affordable prices constantly impresses me. I picked up this bronzer recently because I was away over Christmas and wanted to make my ‘tan’ last as long as possible. I was really impatient and started using this before I photographed it which I regret now, I would’ve liked to write a full post on it. But it’s a nice matte bronzer that just gives a hint of a glow to skin. This cost just €4.99.
I’ve just realised that apart from the High Beam my makeup must haves are quite budget friendly, so I’m not encouraging you to spend too much money! What do you think?
