It’s safe to say I love a bit of a bargain. Dealz landed in Ireland about two years ago and we cannot get enough of it. There is a small Dealz near where I work and I tend to have a browse in it a few times a week. The great thing about Dealz is that everything costs €1.49, so you can easily spot a bargain. Dealz is ideal for a beauty fan as they often have great cosmetics from brands such as Rimmel, Maybelline, Revlon and Sally Hansen at greatly reduced prices. Here are just some of the products I’ve picked up there.
I’m definitely having a skincare hoarding problem at the moment. Last week I told you about my latest Clinique haul. I was tempted by bonus time and needed to replace my Take the Day Off Balm. As my second product I bought the Moisture Surge Face Spray on the back of Caroline Hirons recent approval of it.
It’s a rare day I write about a hair product as I rarely buy styling products and am generally a bit meh about the ones that I do. I was watching the fab Lovely Girlie Bits May favourites video and saw her mention this L’Oreal Hot and Big spray (I keep calling it Big and Bouncy!). Karen’s hair looks similar to mine and hers was definitely looking fuller so I thought I’d give it a whirl.
This comes in a handy 200ml spray with a lock on the nozzle to keep it shut. I use this on damp hair and just spray it all over the roots of my hair. I usually dry my hair upside down and then use a barrel brush to straighten out the ends. After blow drying you can really see the difference, the roots of my hair just look more lifted and my hair overall looks much fuller. The effect also lasts me the full day which is never the case for me!
I’ve tried a few of these types of sprays before and never been massively bowled over (apart from Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Finish but that is ka-ching expensive and so not for everyday use) but this one has totally won me over. I have to second Karen’s strong praise of this spray. If like me you have fine hair but a lot of it, this could be a winner for you and it costs just €5.99. Sure where would you be going at that price. Thanks for the great find Karen!
Well the weather has been warm for at least a week in Ireland now so summer has officially been declared! This means it’s time to show a bit more skin than I normally prefer, I’m more of a winter fashion, cosy tights kind of girl! But I do have a few products I turn to to help me brave the summer months…
Ah I need help, skincare seems to be my addiction at the moment. I can’t stop buying new products. I recently realised I had €56 left on a gift card and of course I hotfooted it to a Clinique counter as I had run out of my beloved Clinique Take the Day Off Balm. I landed on the counter in Debenhams on Henry Street and realised there was a Bonus Time on and a very attractive Bonus Time gift at that. As I was already buying one skincare product I’d have been mad not to buy another.
I’ve done a few round ups of my favourite face masks lately as I’m loving them at the moment! You can see my favourite moisturising ones here and my favourite peeling/brightening ones here. I don’t tend to use the more clay type masks as I’m sometimes nervous that they will irritate or dry out my skin. But I braved one recently and here’s how I got on…
Love, love, love cream blushes for the summer. In fact I love a cream blush year round. I find they suit my dry skin and give better colour payoff and last longer than powder blushes on me. I have had these two from Makeup Revolution in my collection for a while so they deserve a good review. As you know I’m a Makeup Revolution fan so have a good few products in my stash. Makeup Revolution have a good reputation going for budget dupes of higher end products and these sticks look to be the budget version of the NARS multiple sticks. To my shame I don’t yet own any NARS so I can’t draw a direct comparison but I’ll let you know how I got on with them.
Whenever we’re stuck for a present for my Mam there’s always the never fail present of ‘smellies’. That might sound funny to some but in our family ‘smellies’ is a catch all term for bath and body products! Mam loves a nice bath so she always has a stock of ‘smellies’ on hand that I always peruse when I’m home. A few weeks ago I came across this product from Rituals in the bathroom and when I smelled the gorgeous scent I knew I had to give it a try.
