It’s been ages since I’ve written one of these posts but I know I sure do love reading other peoples so I thought I’d show you what’s in my makeup bag today! First up is the bag itself. This is a lovely Penney’s find and I like it for carting around my day to day makeup in my bag as you really can’t miss the neon pink when rummaging. I’d prefer if it was slightly wider but it does the job. Here’s what’s currently inside – links to posts in the title if I’ve done a full review…
Last week I told you all about my favourite peeling face masks that help keep my skin smooth and glowy. I thought I’d continue the theme this week by bringing you my favourite moisturising face masks. I have dry skin so a good moisturising mask is a staple of my skincare routine. Here are my top picks. Well I have a few beauty missions in my life and one of them is to find a non-uv gel nail polish that lasts more than two days on my nails. I really admire people who can get 4/5 days out of nail polish, I’m lucky if I can escape the day without a chip. I have tried long wearing gel polishes from the likes of CND Vinylux but didn’t get incredibly long wearing results. I had wanted to try the Sally Hansen one but heard mixed reports so I decided not to face disappointment again.
Well I am a bit of a sucker for a trend but as a beauty blogger that’s a dangerous space to be in. You have to be careful not to get suckered into buying every new trend on the block or it’s a surefire way to brokesville. The new cushion foundations really caught my eye though. I remember British Beauty Blogger Jane predicting this would be the next big thing to come from Korea a while back and I’ve been tempted to order one from my fave Korean cosmetics online store. However I was recently in a Kiko store in France and spotted their new cushion foundation and decided to give it a whirl.
I’m a big fan of a peeling mask as I find they suit my skin really well. I don’t really like to use very scrubby type products on my skin as it’s sensitive and tends to aggravate my mild case of Rosacea. As I result I’ve developed a collection of enzyme/peeling type products to help exfoliate and brighten my skin. Here’s a round up of my favourites.
Not too long back I did a dive into my product stash and came across this face oil from one of my British Beauty Blogger beauty boxes. I love a facial oil but have never tried anything from the Nude brand so thought if give it a whirl. Here’s how I got on with it.
Well it’s hard to believe but little ol Makeup Revolution turned 1 two weeks ago! In case you hadn’t noticed I’m a big fan of theirs (you can read all my reviews here) and so I can’t believe most of their products I love have been in my life for less than a year. I’ve had The One Fluid blusher in my stash for a while but am for some reason only getting around to trying this out now.
If you’ve ever seen the lovely Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blushers these are pretty much an exact dupe for these. The are extremely liquid which makes them a little unwieldy, I’m still not sure I’ve perfected the art of applying them. When I say you only need a teeny amount of these, I mean a pea sized drop. It’s best to build up than end up with mucho rosy cheeks. I apply these using my fingers which I if think is the best way. I pour a tiny drop onto the back of my left hand and apply in circular motion from the centre of my cheek moving outward quickly. These set really quickly so you have to move fast to avoid any lines.
But oh boy does this leave you with a seriously natural flush. It’s as close as natural colour as you’re going to get. The Pink Sea shade I have looks shockingly pink in the bottle but goes on a lovely baby pink shade. This has some serious staying power and won’t budge throughout the day.
I checked the Makeup Revolution website and these blushes are in the ‘last chance to buy section’ on the website so unfortunately they are being discontinued But this means you can buy these for €2.11 at the moment. Delivery to Ireland is about €5 but isn’t too bad if you’re getting a few bits. I have a few new bits winging their way to me at the moment. Have you tried anything from Makeup Revolution?
Well I broke the blogger cardinal sin and used this product before I photographed it so I would like to apologise if it looks a little messy! I had a gift voucher with a tenner left on it that I had to use up so I bought this new Bourjois Colorband shadow and eyeliner pencil and a nail polish from 17. I’m a big fan of a pencil or any product in stick form. I have a bajillion lip crayons and a few blusher ones and many eye shadow sticks. They’re so handy for throwing in your bag and you don’t really need an applicator in a rush.
