The lovely folks at Chic Treat Club sent me one of the products from their June box to review. If you haven’t heard of Chic Treat Club it is an Irish Beauty subscription box service that has been sending out boxes packed with beauty goodies for six months now. From reading the reports from my fellow bloggers they get great reviews and always contain some of the latest beauty treats as well as supporting some Irish brands.
Well the temperature has gone over fifteen degrees in Ireland so summer has officially arrived! People go from complaining about the rain to complaining about the heat. I have skin with a touch of rosacea and a fair bit of redness so my skin doesn’t react too well to the heat. When I go on holidays I often get a rash from the sun on my face. So when the heat hits I am on mission to cool down my skin. Here is my current skin cooling routine.
I don’t write too much about hair products as it’s probably where I put in the least beauty effort! I have fine hair but lots of it so I struggle to get volume into it and it can look a little heavy at the ends. So I am all for anything the promises to thicken or add a little more body all over. You really couldn’t miss the L’Oreal Fibrology launch and when I saw the good reviews from my bloggers pals start to roll in I decided I had to try it.
I’m not going to lie to you I really didn’t like this the first few times I used it! I’m not sure if I was just being a bit careless with my hair wash but it left my hair feeling a little greasy. I had written it off until a few weeks ago when I thought I’d give it a second try. I’m really glad I did as I’ve definitely noticed my hair looking thicker without any greasy problems. When I blow dry it I can see there is more volume at the roots and I just generally look like I have more hair.
I’m not very good with the science stuff but this range contains an ingredient called Filloxane. Apparently this Filloxane can penetrate the hair fibre and expand it from within. All I can say is that my hair looks thicker! I’ve only used the shampoo (€5.09) as I use conditioner maybe once a week so haven’t needed to buy a new one yet but I might buy the Fibrology conditioner (€5.09) next. There is also a Thickness Booster (€7.69) that you mix with your conditioner before applying it, now that just sounds like too much work for me so I probably won’t try it. There is a mask (€6.49) and serum (€8.99) in the range as well. I do like the L’Oreal hair masks so I might give the mask a try.
Fibrology products are 3 for €13 in Boots at the moment so now would be a good time to snap them up if you’re interested. Have you tried the Fibrology range?
I am LOVING Makeup Revolution at the moment! If you haven’t heard about them yet they’re a budget makeup brand that launched in the UK at the start of the year. You can read my experiences with them so far here. I recently got my British Beauty Blogger dream box here and was delighted to get this Makeup Revolution palette as a part of it.
Well finally I get to tick this one off my bucket list! I have wanted to go to Monart Spa for so long and me and my friends decided to go for a girly spa break last weekend. We were very excited, we don’t get together as much as we’d like and all of us had heard such good reports of Monart. Here’s how we got on…
Well isn’t this exciting looking?? I’m a regular reader of British Beauty Blogger Janes blog. She’s always got the latest releases and is very honest in her thoughts. Every so often Jane releases a box of her favourite goodies, I bought the last two here and here. The boxes are always amazing value and I’ve discovered so many amazing products.
Sorry things have been a little quiet the last week or so on the blog, I was on holidays and have been so busy since I’ve been back. Normal service will resume shortly! Anyways while I was in Tenerife I picked up a few polishes from the brand Yes Love which I had never heard of. I chose this lovely speckled polish which is great quality for the bargain price of €2.95. The polish is lovely and creamy and goes on opaque in two coats. I like the quality of these polishes so much I wish I had bought more. What do you think?
Well you know what they say better late than never! I’ve been really busy lately with holidays and my day job that I’m a bit late with the last but not least Lets Talk Blog Challenge post. This is the final post in the great challenge that has been hosted by Sarah over At The Beauty Desk. The last topic is Recommend to a Friend, so I’ve picked a few products that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to a friend!
