I’m such a sucker for innovative beauty buys and if it’s nail related I’m all over it. I love gel nails but the thing that really puts me off having them done is how difficult they are to remove. I feel my nails are wrecked after and that it’s not really worth it. You’re also limited to one brand and the colours can be expensive if you want to do them yourself at home. Well I think I might have found a solution…
I really cant believe that my little blog is one year old this week! It feels like only yesterday that I made the decision to enter the blogging world. I really wasn’t sure how long I’d last but the beauty blogging community, especially the Irish one has just been so welcoming I can’t imagine not doing it now. The year has been great, I’ve met some really lovely people and made some great beauty discoveries along the way, I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store!

Wet n Wild made a splash (puntastic sorry!) when they landed in Ireland at the start of the year. They’re a budget brand that has been in the US for years but the beauty blogging world got very excited when their arrival here was imminent. It’s a range of good quality colourful cosmetics that don’t cost the earth. I recently went to an event hosted by them and was lucky to get this eye shadow palette as part of a goodie bag I got.
The topic for this weeks Lets Talk Blog Challenge is to write a wedding, first date, night out or festival survival guide. I decided to go for festival as it can feel like a survival mission at times! The last festival I went to was Forbidden Fruit last year, it was a great one but it’s not a true festival festival as you don’t have to camp. The last camping festival I went to was Electric Picnic and many moons ago I went to Oxegen for three years in a row before it started to get a bit rough. I’m mainly going to look at this from a beauty point of view with a few tips thrown in but here’s what I think you need to survive:
I am on a spending ban at the moment and I’m not doing brilliantly, I had a slight cave here. But I really am stoney broke so I’m going to try another month without buying any products. It’s typical when you’re on a spending ban that you suddenly want everything! Here are some of the products I’m craving at the moment.
Makeup Revolution are really shaking up makeup land. They are producing good quality cosmetics at veerrry affordable prices. They’re also producing some makeup that might look very familiar to you with dupe being shouted for many different brands including the Urban Decay Naked palettes and some popular MAC and Illamasqua lipsticks. Here is the product that first caught my eye…
This is the third week in the Lets Talk Blog Challenge that is being hosted by Sarah who blogs over At The Beauty Desk. This topic is a complete fantasy post, you basically get to pick whatever you would like to get for your birthday in a dream world! It could be very easy to get carried away but I will try my best to be a little restrained, ha ha, no chance…
I haven’t done a Nail of the Week in aaaages, sorry! I’m not sure why as it’s not like I’ve given up painting my nails I got this lovely Rimmel polish in my goody bag from the Love Life and Makeup bloggers meetup. It immediately caught my attention because I love anything with a coral tone. This is a pale orangey coral with a slight hint of a pearly shimmer. It goes on opaque in two coats and I think it makes a lovely summery shade. What do you think?
I was lucky to be invited along to a launch last night for American makeup brand Physicians Formula. It’s great to see new brands landing on Irish shores as it provides a bit of excitement for us beauty junkies. Physicians Formula has been around since 1937 and was invented by Dr Robert Crandall who was looking for cosmetics suitable for his wife’s sensitive skin. All of the products are designed to be hypoallergenic and free from 100 known skin irritants. Not only are the products skin friendly, they are also very pretty, let’s take a look at some of the range…
