This is the first week in the #LetsTalkBlogChallenge being organised by the lovely Sarah over At The Beauty Desk. The topic for this week is A Day in my Life, which is basically just giving you an insight into my life through some photos! I am a useless photographer outside of beauty products so I just have a few small snaps I’ve taken over the last few weeks to give you a random look at my life!
Apologies for the cheesy title but I just couldn’t resist, good thing I find myself hilarious eh! Well I’m not sure how new beauty brand Makeup Revolution first came on my radar but a quick browse of their website had me very excited. The brand launched a mere month ago in the UK and is creating quite a storm, so of course yours truly had to jump on the bandwagon! Here’s what I bought…
I’m sure it’s happened to you at some time, you read all the rave reviews and decide you simply have to have that product! As a beauty blogger there is constant temptation and I really have to try and control myself. But I do regularly get caught up in the hype and buy the latest buzzed about product. There is nothing more disappointing to me than when I’ve forked out a substantial amount of money on a product only to be slightly underwhelmed by it. Here are some products that I don’t get the fuss over…
Agghhh I love this and you can only get them in the US, I want all of them now! This polish is just amazing, the kind that you keep staring at. It goes on opaque in two coats and it has such an unusual finish. It’s like a cross between a glitter, sand and foil polish. This shade is a lovely pink toned red with flecks of gold throughout it. I don’t think I’m describing it too well but hopefully the pictures below will do it justice. The finish is just really eye catching and I’ve been wearing it three days without a hint of a chip. These cost $12.50 and I urge you to buy some if you are stateside and buy some for me!
I absolutely love the smell of the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse, I sometimes apply the oil just for the smell of it. So I was jumping for joy when I heard Nuxe were bringing out a perfume with the famous Prodigieuse scent. Despite being on a spending ban I recently decided I just had to have it and copped that I had a voucher so I hotfooted it down to Arnotts.
If you’ve been reading the blog recently you’ll know I went a bit overboard in Spehora. I bought a whole heap of cosmetics including this face cleanser. My skin is being very dry and sensitive at the moment and I thought this sounded ideal.
The cleanser is very gentle and contains no sulphates, parabens or fragrance. Because the formula is fragrance free it doesn’t smell particularly appealing, it doesn’t smell badly, it just doesn’t smell amazing. This contains soy proteins which help to keep moisture in the skin. It also contains cucumber extract to help calm the skin.
The cleanser is a gel base that turns slightly milky in your hands. I just wash my face with it in the shower and rinse it off. It doesn’t feel particularly powerful but it did a great job at removing all my makeup. My skin felt very calm and clean without any dryness or tightness.
The Soy Face Cleanser is a great pick for sensitive and dry skin that needs to be handled with care. Unfortunately you can’t get this in Ireland at the moment as far as I can see but I found this product similar to the L’Occitane gel cleanser I reviewed here. If you are stateside soon you can buy the small tube that I have for $15 or the full size tube is $38.
I’m having a serious blusher crush at the moment, I’ve been digging into my stash and trying out everything I own as well as buying new ones of course – although no more as I’m on my spending ban till June now! As part of my blusher addiction I recently bought the No7 Pop and Glow Cream Blush Stick as part of my latest Boots haul here.
Mam kindly brought me back a few polishes from Florida as she is well aware of my nail polish obsession. This polish is part of the Essie Spring 2014 collection and is called Romper Room. I had gone years without trying Essie despite it being a much loved brand. I eventually bought one last year but I wasn’t totally won over by it. This polish might have just converted me over though. I love a good opaque pink but have struggled to find one I really love, I think this might just be my new favourite polish. It goes on streak free in about 3 coats. I’m not the best with creamy opaque formulas but I think I did pretty well with this. What do you think?
