For the past few years our staff christmas party had involved some vert tacky Christmas jumpers! I decided to up the game this year and have some cheesy christmassy nails for the party. I created this look using masking tape to create the stripes and the tree. The polishes I used included some from a set of amazing glitters I have from The New Black called The Party Rock set. I used the green, red, gold, white and silver glitter in this look. I have since fallen in love with their polishes. The silver glitter one I used in this look was amazing. What do you think??
In the last few years I’ve come to appreciate a good face mask. I always thought of myself as a makeup hoarder but I find myself buying more skincare lately. I have a few issues with pigmentation and skin sensitivity that I’m constantly trying to tackle. I find a decent face mask makes such a difference in my battle for great skin.
Another Christmassy Nail of the Week! I am gradually branching out with my nail art and trying to so something a bit more complex than dots. I thought how hard can a snowman be, turns out it’s not as straightforward as you might think. I painted the snowman on with the brush and added the details with the nail art pen. The orange polish is by NYC in Spring Street and the white China Glaze polish is Dandy Lyin Around (?). It’s definitely not perfect but it’s a start! What do you think?
You’ll probably laugh at this post! While everyone is busy decking the halls and wrapping the presents, today I am boarding a plane to head to India for Christmas! I just felt like doing something different this year so me and friend Debs are jetting off for the Christmas season. It also means I get to tick another thing off my bucket list! I’ll be back before new years though as I plan on getting some last minute Christmas buzz in and my family are saving my Christmas presents till then, yay. I also just wanted to show you what I’m bringing with me make-up and skincare wise, if you fancy a bit of a nosy!
All the December Nails of the Week will have a bit of a festive feel and you can’t beat classic reds for Christmas! For this look I used a combination of China Glaze Red Satin and OPIs Liquid Sand in Magazine Cover Mouse (as in Minnie Mouse, this makes me love it more!). I really didn’t think I would get along with the OPI Liquid Sand polishes but I actually think they’re lovely. They give such an unusual finish, they can really complement a regular polish. What do you think?
Sleek has very recently arrived in Ireland as there is now a counter in Boots Liffey Valley. You were always able to order it online but it’s super handy now. I was doing my big Christmas pressie shop in Liffey Valley and treated myself to a few bits from Sleek. I bought a lip balm, lip gloss and this palette.
For December all of my Nails of the Week will have a festive feeling, to give you a few ideas for Christmas parties and nights out! The new Brocades range from Maybelline are a Christmas dream. They’re a range of polishes with a fine glitter base containing larger pieces of glitter as well, that give a really unusual finish. Below is the Knitted Gold shade, it’s just so shiny and glittery and gives different effects depending on the light. It switches from totally gold to rose gold. I’ve also seen red and black versions of this, I think there is a wider shade range in the states but I’ve only seen these.
While wandering through the little Boots near my apartment I noticed what a great selection of free gift offers there are at the moment. It means if you’re stocking up on some make-up you can also bag yourself a little gift to use as a stocking filler/kris kindle or just a present for yourself! Here are some of the best:
