My poor skin always gets a bit of a shock when winter hits and I think because we had such a lovely summer my skin is super shocked this year! My lips especially seem to be having a hard time and are in a very dry state. I don’t normally get this and they feel quite uncomfortable. I mainly use the EOS lip balm which I do like but I felt I needed something a bit tougher. I had read numerous bloggers sing the praises of this Nuxe lip balm so I decided I’d give it a shot.
One great thing about the blog is now people know just how obsessed I am with cosmetics, I get some lovely beauty gifts. My friend Steph bought me this great Ciaté Colourfoil set for my birthday – thanks Steph! I’ve been dying to get a chance to try it. This is going to be a longer Nail of the Week post as the set really deserves it!
I promise this isn’t a massive hint for my family and friends as to what to get me for Christmas! I just thought I would take a look at some of my favourite Christmas gifts this season to suit your budget. It might give you some thoughts on what to get the favourite lady in your life.
This weeks Nail of the Week was a gift from my friend Laura. We’ve both gained a strong addiction to buying bargain-tastic nail varnishes from Dealz. Laura spotted this and thought I’d like. Firstly I have to say the photos don’t do this polish justice! It’s a multi toned shade which looks blue, green, grey and pinky in different lights. I’ve been lusting after Essies For the Twill of It for a while now and this polish has a very similar finish. This cost just €1.49 which is hard to believe considering the Chroma Chameleon range is still on sale on the Revlon counter!
I spotted this on somebody’s blog/twitter ages ago but I can’t remember who it was! It’s been on my mind ever since, I just had to have it. My lovely nan who knows the way to my heart, gave me a Boots voucher for my birthday recently so I decided to treat myself to this set. It’s part of the ever popular Christmas gift selection from Soap and Glory. It’s a set of three powders in one very cute package called Powder Trip.
Updated 8pm 18/11: Sorry guys I got two of the shades mixed up on this, I updated it now, I clearly had a heavy weekend, apologies!!
If you read my post on the acrylic storage in Homestore and More here you’ll know i’m a bit of a neat freak and also that I’ve been on the hunt for some great nail polish storage for a while. I think I might have finally found the solution. Apologies in advance for a picture heavy post!
So my little blog recently turned six months old. The time has just flown, I really don’t know where it has gone! I’ve learnt a lot so far and have really enjoyed the whole creative process of it. Sometimes you lose a bit of motivation but then I look at the amount of people who have read my blog in the last six months and imagine all those people in a big room. You actually read my blog! It makes it all worthwhile. I’m so grateful as well for all the lovely comments I get, I get so excited when I get a new one!
Anywho I’ll stop rambling but on my six month blog birthday I thought it might be interesting to show you my Top 5 Most Read Posts. I get a good proportion of my visits from search traffic so I just think it’s interesting to see what’s popular. Here’s the countdown starting with number 5 most read…
Like many people I’m a big fan of British Beauty Blogger Jane Cunningham. She has a no fuss, straight talking blogging style that I really admire. Way back in July when I was still a complete blogging newby I spotted that BBB was releasing an limited beauty box with a selection of her favourite products at a bargain price. I snapped one up and you can read about the fabulousness of it here. So I got very excited when I saw Jane was releasing a Christmas beauty box, so I set my alarm early a few weeks ago to snap the new box at 7am. I received it yesterday, here it is….
More Pro Beauty haul polishes for nail of the week! I bought one of the liquid sand polishes in Honey Ryder. I wasn’t sure if I would like it but thought I’d give it a try. I thought it would go nicely with the big glitter polish The Living Daylights. OPI released a Bond collection for Skyfall and The Living Daylights was part of this. Honey Ryder gives a lovely matte glitter effect that I think will be fab for Christmas. The glitter shade has really big glitter pieces and if you use a good dabbing technique you can get great coverage with it! OPI polishes usually cost from about €10.
