Not so long ago I reviewed the fab Nima Mitt here and now I’m looking at the brushes. I was really lucky to win this brush set at the September Beauty Blog Challenge Wrap Up party, We had been treated to a great makeup demo by Niamh Martin the owner of Nima Brush, so I was really excited to give the brushes a try.
I know a lot of people don’t use toner as it’s a little bit of an extra step in any cleansing routine. I like it though as I find it can cool down my face and also remove any final traces of makeup. Up until now I had mainly been using the Liz Earle toner, which I do really like. But I had run out and picked up this product before I had the chance to order another Liz Earle.
This weeks Nail of the Week is a total bargain! I was wandering through Dealz near where I work and spotted a selection of decent looking make up including nail polishes from Revlon, Sally Hansen and Maybelline. The colour selection was actually pretty good and they only cost €1.49 each! Like the magpie I am I was drawn towards the glittery shade. It’s quite an unusual combination but I really like it for a winter frosty nail look. It took about 4 coats to get this effect but I think it’s really pretty. What do you think?
Well after a historic scorchio summer and autumn, normal service has resumed in Ireland. We’re wholly unprepared for the rain and cold as it’s been so long since we’ve seen it we almost forgot it ever happened. For me one of my biggest peeves of the cold weather is the effect it has on my dry skin. I have the added bonus of working in an entirely air conditioned office so my skin does not fare too well in these conditions. I have pale, sensitive, dry skin that is prone to redness, so hopefully this might give you some ideas if you have similar skin…
If you read my post about the September Beauty Blog Challenge Wrapup Party here you’ll know I was really lucky to win a set of brushes from Nima Brush. Nima Brush is an Irish company run by the lovely Niamh who gave us a great makeup demo at the SBBC party. Nima Brush also make a wonder cleansing product called the Nima Mitt and Niamh was kind enough to give us all one to try at the party.
Well if you caught last weeks Nail of the Week here, you’ll know I went a bit mad at the Pro Beauty Show and bought a rake load of nail polishes. This was another one of my purchases. I’ve never really been a fan of the grey hues of polishes that are popular at the moment but this baby has changed my mind. I really love this colour! It took about three coats to get it fully opaque but I keep admiring it now I have it on. What do you think? China Glaze polishes usually cost about €7.50 and I think are great quality for the price.
This is just a quick post about some nice storage pieces I spotted at the weekend. I am on a major hunt to find a great way to store my nail polish collection. I still haven’t quite found what I’m looking for but I did spot some nice makeup storage options on my way.
I first saw this tag over on Total Makeup Addicts blog first and have seen it on a few others since. It’s quite a scary topic that I’m a little bit afraid to do it. I know I spend a lot of money on makeup but I’m a bit afraid to total up some of my products. Basically I’m going to take the makeup I’d wear on a night out and add up how much it’s worth! Right, deep breath, here goes.
Yes hard to believe but it’s that time again – Nail of the Week! I went bananas at the Pro Beauty Show in the RDS on Monday and picked up 12 Nail polishes in the process. I got 6 OPI polishes and 6 China Glaze in a variety of shades as you can see. I’m excited to try them all and have my thinking cap on for some Halloween nails. This is one of my more sedate picks from the show and in hindsight I have loads of shades similar to it already. It’s called My Chihuahua Bites. It’s a red toned pink with a lovely glossy finish, this comes out more coral in photos for some reason though. I think it’s a nice staple to have in your collection, what do you think? I’ll bring you more swatches of my Pro Beauty purchases over the next few weeks!
The pit of my week last week was definitely having my almost brand new iphone stolen on Friday night while the peak for sure was the September Beauty Blog Challenge wrap up party on Sunday. The wrap up party was my first ever blogger event. I was definitely nervous about going and this was quadrupled by my lack of phone, my technology separation anxiety had reached a peak! My nerves were definitely unfounded as i had a great night!
