Moa The Green Balm
I occasionally have a panic about what I’m putting on my skin, what’s in it? where is it made? etc. I’m really keen to try more natural and organic products because then I don’t have to Google the ingredients! I was browsing Feel Unique’s website one day and I came across this product.
Moa The Green Balm is listed as one of their bestsellers. It’s a multipurpose eh balm. It’s key ingredients are Yarrow and Tea Tree. Yarrow is a herb apparently renowned for its healing properties. It also contains beeswax, coconut, sweet almond and soy bean oil, to soften skin. It’s totally natural, organic and of course not tested on animals.
Lots of bloggers like to post about their empties but today I am posting about my un-empties – now I know that’s not a word but I’m going to use it anyway! Ok so I need help… I was doing a spring (summer) clean of my bedroom and I got a bit of a shock. I have a box where I put all my body care/skincare products that I haven’t used yet and this is what’s in it!
My friends and family know I love beauty bits so I get a lot as presents and sometimes donations – thanks guys! I also have a spending problem and buy a lot of stuff I don’t always need straight away. But I have to say I got a shock when I saw just how much stuff I’ve accumulated.
I was feeling a bit down in the dumps the other day so decided to cheer myself up with a bit of nail art, as you do! I had a rummage though my stash and found this bright neon pink called Pink Punch. For some reason it’s coming out a little orange in photos but in reality it’s more pink toned. I had to jazz it up of course, so I dug out a Barry M Nail Art pen which I hadn’t even opened. The pen is brilliant I have to say, really easy to use, although it’s tricky doing your right hand. This is supposed to be leopard print style, not sure if I pulled it off but it cheered me up!

Illamasqua Alter Ego Mystery Box
Now it was either Aoife at A little Infinity or Audrey at The Nail Affair who pointed me in the direction of this brilliant find! I’m amazed this product sort of quietly arrived under the radar. Illamasqua released two limited edition mystery boxes in conjunction with Debenhams. Basically it’s the makeup equivalent of a Lucky Dip bag!
There are two versions the Alter Ego Mystery Selection and the Eyes and Nails Mystery selection. I bought both but today I’m talking about my favourite the Alter Ego. This box contains 6 products. You know you are getting the Liquid Metal in Electrum and a nail polish in Collide but after that it’s a mystery. Well I was very happy to solve mine because I love the products I got! Here’s the haul…
British Beauty Blogger Edit Box
I was just so excited when I got a text from the Parcel Motel to say my package had arrived because I knew it was this little beauty. A few weeks ago the fabulous British Beauty Blogger announced she was releasing a once off beauty edit box of some of her favourite products. There were just 500 boxes so I jumped on this as quick as I could. Initially I wasn’t sure if I could get this in Ireland but Frillseeker came to the rescue and described how you could get this to Ireland through the Parcel Motel. So the postage cost me nothing extra to Ireland as your first two packages to the Parcel Motel are free! Yay!
This weeks Nail of the Week is courtesy of the lovely Illamasqua. I’m loving the bright colours this summer, what with the weather being so amazing in Ireland at the moment! This polish is called Ouija and its a punchy cerise pink with a bit of a shimmer. This shade is part of their latest Paranormal collection and it glows under UV light. Unfortunately I don’t have a UV light close to hand but I’m sure it will be pretty cool if I go dancing in a retro nightclub anytime soon!
Liz Earle Instant Skin Boost Tonic
There was a bit of hoo-ha over toner a few months ago. The Daily Mail wrote an article here, discussing the pros and cons, but mainly some of the cons of toner. It was interesting because they rightly claim that some toners can be harsh on skin when they are heavy on the alcohol. I can’t use the Clinique Clarifying Lotion because it actually stings the face off me but my sister has no problems with it.
So I suppose toner is like most beauty products, it all depends on finding the right product for your skin concerns. I’m not an expert but I do believe that toner has a benefit in any beauty routine for A. removing any last traces of cleanser or eye make up remover (the oiliness of this won’t help your eye cream) before moisturiser and B either claryifying oily skin or soothing sensitive skin after cleansing.
Sexy Mother Pucker Glosses
I’ve mentioned before that I’m more of a lip gloss person rather than a lipstick person. I have so many lip glosses lying around in handbags, drawers and makeup bags, I couldn’t tell you how many I have. There are a few of these that I will actively go searching for and the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker are top of my list.
You’ll either love these or hate these! These plumping lip glosses really divide people. I know some people don’t like the tingling sensation on their lips. I’m not a massive fan of the tingling feeling either but these glosses are pretty tame compared to some I have tried.
NYC Applelicious Lip Balm
I am such a sucker for ridiculously cute things. So when I saw this little lip balm from NYC I immediately thought ‘ahhhh would you look at that, a little apple in the middle’. I couldn’t resist the cuteness so I picked it up. But in fairness it was only €1.50!
I applied for tickets to Frillseeker.ie launch and I was so happy when I got them. I had a great time at the launch, it was packed! Of course I had to do my nails for such a glamorous event. I chose this favourite nude polish from Catrice. It’s a fab opaque dusky pink, called ‘The Nude Scene’ from the limited edition 40’s Collection. The collection is an oldie but I’ve seen it on some counters in the last few weeks. I of course had to sparkle it up with some glitter powder from Essence Pigments, called ‘Broadway Starlet’. I applied this to the tips with a little concealer brush I got with an eye palette. What do you think?
